What the deuce? Ok, this is just getting weird now. Sarcasm i can handle, but when its sarcasm built upon other sarcasm built upon other sarcasm it just gets silly. btw, if anyone is confused about the neolives/sean stuff - just check this forums history. Or maybe the ftw account just got sold on ebay or something =P
Sayi on topic pls, this forum has roules.

Hail Neo, full of pwnage, Morpheus is with thee Blessed art thou among Zion, and blessed is the roundhouse against Smith. Holy Neo, pray for us now, and at the hour of Victory, Amen.
I was in the Closed Beta of MxO, and honestly I was horrible dissapointed, and decided back then not to continue and simply leave it. Haven't touched it since so dont know much about what it's become, except Ive seen not many play it, and know that SOE bought it, and since Im not exactly a "big" SOE fan, Im not really in any position of wanting to try it again.
Stop whateva your doing and go buy MXO. You will thank me. But make a zion character, the rest willl soon be...burnt toast lol!
So much has changed
new combat system that is killer
loads of new quests and storyline stuff, like about 2 years worth of stuff to do
about 30,000 new items
new areas
NEO AND MORH ARE BACK
Now, I'm as pro-MxO as the next guy, but even I don't take things this far.
I don't know if you're being serious or not, but I'll refute your points just so anyone reading this who hasn't played MxO doesn't get the wrong idea; that's how you make enemies.
new combat system that is killer- While the old system had its share of bugs, replacing that with a new combat system that produces new bugs nearly every patch sort of kills the point in the first place, but SoE doesn't want to admit that else those six barren months would've been for naught. Plus, the new system got rid of two important aspects not only to MxO combat (due to their uniqueness) but to Matrix lore in general: wall-jumping and multi-fighting. While multi-fighting was bugged to death, it could have been fixed, at least fixed in a shorter timeframe. And while wall-jumping was a rare occurence (you needed to actually be near a wall, obviously, and that was hard to do), it still happened, and never failed to get a "cool" out of me.
loads of new quests and storyline stuff, like about 2 years worth of stuff to do- I assume you mean the archive missions, yes? If so, they're hardly new. Doing a bunch of missions I did already just for some item that I don't really need...the payoff isn't that great for doing them. And this game has only one (as in singular) quest, and that is Pandora's Box. PB explains some backstory of the previous versions of the Matrix, but after the first time through, the effect wears off and it just becomes a pain to get the items. And about the storyline itself, the current way the devs release missions and cinematics is done under a nice little schedule, but at the cost of precious time. This game is losing players faster than they can crank out critical missions and cinematics, but I can see why they do it this way: back with Monolith, they'd release everything in a nice little pack, followed by the epic live events that us vets always go on about. This produced a sense that something was always going on, at least that was how I felt about things.
about 30,000 new items- Now I know you're either joking or really, and I stress that, trying to sell this game to people, because in this area the game is horribly lacking. I remember back in the old days when everybody dressed in the same clothes. This was because there were few items with good buffs. With Sony, and under CR2, they tried to solve this problem by giving good buffs to more items (giving one, maybe you?, the impression that more items were created when they really weren't), but still, you'll see people wearing the same things. I really hope that these re-tuned clothes aren't your "30,000" items. What I consider new items are things that use different models, such as the Assassin's Mask. What SoE does is re-texture old items, slap a few different buffs on them, and claim it as a new item. A perfect example is the new FM-1500, or Agent gun, which is simply a re-textured model of the lv10 handgun (can't remember its name). This, to me, is a waste of time but then again, you have to understand that the devs are working under a strained budget so you have to factor that in as well. If they had introduced, say, a sniper rifle that doesn't look like an M16, now that would be something :P
new areas- The white hallways have been around since beta, SoE simply gave us access. The org constructs are more than likely areas that the devs created prior to launch, but if I'm wrong, then three new areas, not talking entire environments here but an interior of one building (although there are variations) in two years' time is hardly what I'd call progress. Other than that, no new areas have been released, unless you exploit of course (I don't know if that's possible but I know of at least one person who's been able to access restricted areas).
NEO AND MORH ARE BACK- The former is a blatant lie and obvious wishful thinking. I wouldn't mind a return but at this point I'd doubt anyone would care. Morpheus' RSI, RSI, has made a return, not the man himself, as it has yet to be proven. Don't twist rumors with facts just to give people false hope.
If you take the game for what it is, and without a subjective point of view, then it really isn't a good game at all. I've played for two years. In no way am I contradicting myself; as I said in a previous post of mine, after the 8th month of release I started playing on and off. The game is strictly for Matrix enthusiasts, which is the only defense I can make for why I stuck around so long (though I wasn't around for much of the Anome debacle, thank God).
So, back on topic, your claim of best game out there is false. This game has one quest, repetitive mission structure and building layout, no end-game content, buggy combat system/districts/mobs, and that's to name a few. If you're not a Matrix fan, stay far from this game. And neo, I've already predicted your responses, so I'm hereby stating that this is the last I look at this thread, just to circumvent that feeling of pride you may feel when I don't respond.

True, which is why I can only stand MxO in short bursts, as I've said, but if that's all I'm coming back for, missions, then there's really no point as I could simply check out mxostory.com or some such place where players screenshot the missions. Other than that, I'm not counting on Sony to be releasing any expansions or serious content anytime soon.
And that's great to hear about neoftw. Now I don't have to bother with his posts anymore

Very far. As far as... like... dunno, explaining the embarassingly obvious facts? There's absolutely nothing you can say to rebut what I said above.
And sell the game... to whom? To a guy who's about to leave? Or to the few people who actually read through this thread? Not even I am so stupid to do this inefficient advertising.
If I wanted to sell some garbage, I'd post a great, glaring thread praising the game and all its aspects, not make some remark about a fact.
Moron.
You're not the sharpest knife in the drawer but this is just sad. What you said above is pure BS, this is not new content unless you're such a fanboy with an agenda that you can stretch the interpretation that far. It's the same content that was IN THE GAME for a long time, get it, is it really that hard to understand? New content means, newly developed content, not taking old content and letting people do it w/o having to make a new character or rep grind. It's ridiculous, if you don't realize what they stop being disingenuous.
I don't know if it's a language thing but you consistently fail to understand the basic ideas behind what people are saying. It's not them, it's you. I feel sorry for people who waste their time trying to spell simple things out for you. I refuse to do it after you harrassed me on the DN1 forums.
Apparently, you somehow managed to misunderstand my above post in the way that I said archive missions were new content. But that's not what I was saying, as I have made it explicitely clear. Not the mission archive is new content, but the missions there are the new content being constantly updated from launch until today. Really, that wasn't the point. Gratz.
As the name says, they archive content that has been released already. But when it was released... wasn't it new, dipshit? When you go into a new subchapter, and a new mission pack with new storyline and text is released... isn't it new then?
I'll save you the answer, it was a rhetoric question. Of course, it is new.
No it's old stuff rereleased.
And now imagine, someone who missed those missions the one way or other when they were released, and starts doing archive missions. This person never has done these missions, so they're new to him.
LOL! Now that's what I was laughing at. It's new to a new person, wow, not new content.
Now imagine another person leaving the game right now (or cease doing critical missions), and coming back after several months. Upon checking the archivists' inventories, or looking at the update notes in the meantime, he would be facing several new subchapters of missions there.
They would be new because they weren't around at the time he left.
No it would be old, he just never played it yet. Oh and I'm sorry but a few quests every few weeks that consist of doing the same thing, IS NOT CONTENT.
Those missions don't introduce any new game mechanics or hand out new items, but they're still newly *written* story content. Exactly, the same shit with different words. I'm glad we agree
Anyone with the ability to understand the basic meaning of what someone's saying would have grasped this upon reading my previous post. But I had to spell it out for you again, right here.
It's like additionally to stating you were sitting in a glass house, I had to explain to you that the glass your house is made of is, indeed, *not* bullet-proof, and stones thrown from outside could break the glass and get through.
And now imagine, someone who missed those missions the one way or other when they were released, and starts doing archive missions. This person never has done these missions, so they're new to him.

By that logic an MMO can never have new content.
"Yeah, i played WoW when it first came out but i left, i just came back and they've added all this new stuff with the expansion! Isn't the concept of MMOs cool?"
"lolwtfbbqh4xx0r u r teh ub0r l4me, dat int new content nubz0r roflroflroflroflroflrofl"
I tried it. I didn't subscribe to it after the trial. And neolivesftw, if you're actually 55 like it says in your profile, I cry for the Matrix community.
Trust me, he aint part of the community. No doubt perma-banned after his little episodes over on the MxO forums.

What was that all about? I only heard about it after standing in Mara C and listening to everyone scold Psionix. Is that who he is?
How much do I have to spell t out, newly developed content. Not old content, literally he same old content, repackaged. Get it? But MXO does have about 20 mins of content pt into the game every few weeks, but this "content" is just different text on a quest, not new encounters or anything that gamers would consider content. Get it?
There is a reason car dealerships have a "used car" section. It ay be new to the guy buying, it, but t ain't new and if you change the oil every few months, that isn't making it new either.
But MXO does have about 20 mins of content pt into the game every few weeks, but this "content" is just different text on a quest, not new encounters Actually as the storyline progresses there have been quite a few 'new encounters', for example the recent elite commandos are new npcs with loadouts and spawn set-ups not used in any missions previous, making them a new experience to combat. There have been also quite a few occasions where the game mechanics have been used creativly in new missions not seen before in older missions or standards, like some of the riddle phases where the player must make a choice of several options, where only one of which is correct.
You're perfectly entitled to your opinion my friend, im just clearing up inaccuracies.
i couldnt help but read the ops first couple posts....MxO isnt that great anymore....the storylines are good...and NO Neo is NOT back...all they have is a garbled up RSI image and Morpheus is still missing....
mxo is like the best game there is and no one knoes that because it isn't marketed. if they would advertise then like millions would play and say wow this is the best gaime there is ftw. marketing is EASY TO DO but sonyi won do it because they kno mxo will take away the playas from all ther other games. they don't want youu to know its the best game mxo > wwow
noo....
mxo >all
so plaiy some mxo and learn what a real gaime is like
or go play wit elves lawls if anyone wants to join my gild were on vector and we rep neo all dayi every dayi

Do you work for SOE?
Yea, I’m a SOE employee, but psst, don’t tell anyone. Otherwise, I might accidentally slip and tell everyone that you’re hired by a certain company to diss SOE for their profit.

No one ever claimed the missions were more than they are – schematic scenarios inside buildings, with fighting and encounters, and story related text.
These missions are nothing but a roleplaying medium through which a story is being told. Work and creativity still go into writing, and obviously, these “different words” actually matter to many players.
A novel also doesn’t consist of anything else than text being written on paper pages.
It doesn’t matter if “gamers” would consider it content or not, because the way you describe, people called “gamers” have requirements in certain areas while obviously not having requirements or interest in other areas (like here, text and story), and thus are just one group of people.
If you’ll say anything about gamers’ opinion mattering more, you’d be an ELITIST. So don’t go there, I’m saying already now.
”Exactly. about 5 mins of content every few weeks. Sorry for raining on your marketing parade with facts.”
It is every week, and that if only counting missions without the events inbetween.
Not every few weeks.
And even if it would take you five minutes to do all three missions released on Thursday, which is IMPOSSIBLE, you’d have to sacrifice reading the text and following the storyline, and then be willfully missing their main and only purpose, aswell as any work that might have gone into creating them.
What you just said wasn’t anything close to “facts”, rather a spiteful, exaggerated and inaccurate remark – the type of post that is the exact opposite of “marketing”, and from which’s point of view, any neutral statement that suggests something more positive than the situation described by this artificially negative remark looks like marketing.
I mean, look at the situation: none of us, at least I, try to tell you that this game rocks or kicks ass. You however put “this is pos and totally worthless” in pretty much each of your posts. That’s why we appear as cheerleaders to you.
I really hope you’re just teasing around and being unserious, the level of nonsense and inaccuracy in your posts has rocketed to infra-red.
Psionix is X-Zero.
Theoretically, he could also be oblivion-knight, Malware, CodeWorks, Neolivesftw, that other guy who added texts to movie trailers, or any other forum troll that happened to cross MxO, but there are no indications to assume that, so, no, it's different persons.

The archive missions aren't new because they're the same as the critical missions released before. But those missions released before... they were new. And if you come back to the game after a long break or join, the archive missions actually are something new.
If the mods hadn't done a great job deleting those posts where you see red blanks now, you'd realize that Neolivesftw is NOT SERIOUS BY ANY MEANS.
Stop whateva your doing and go buy MXO. You will thank me. But make a zion character, the rest willl soon be...burnt toast lol!

"Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean it isn't any good"
True, which is why I can only stand MxO in short bursts, as I've said, but if that's all I'm coming back for, missions, then there's really no point as I could simply check out mxostory.com or some such place where players screenshot the missions. Other than that, I'm not counting on Sony to be releasing any expansions or serious content anytime soon.
And that's great to hear about neoftw. Now I don't have to bother with his posts anymore

LOL!
See how far this guy goes to try and sell this garbage?
Do you work for SOE?
By that logic an MMO can never have new content.
"Yeah, i played WoW when it first came out but i left, i just came back and they've added all this new stuff with the expansion! Isn't the concept of MMOs cool?"
"lolwtfbbqh4xx0r u r teh ub0r l4me, dat int new content nubz0r roflroflroflroflroflrofl"

Umm, No?
Oh yeah might want to visit www.hookedonphonics.com
