Is it considered good enough for Vanguard coupled by 2GB Ram and an Intel Core Duo 2.133GZ?
I mean for high quality settings of course, since i am not overly thrilled about the average ones
man wish I had that layout but my computers are bit old and couldnt handle the power requirement.
There is no doubt that your computer can handle it. If i can get by with my ATI x1300 then you can get by for sure. Be warned there are performance issues with the game including some problems with zoning and hitching...but I dont know what the high end users are dealing with...I have minor lag issues but that is mostly on my side (Vista).

It sounds like you tried VG at launch but are wanting to try it again with a beefier rig - am I right? The first thing to note is that there has been no magic patch to boost general performance....BUT...
The 8000GTS with the other specs you mentioned will run the game very well. I run an 8800GTX myself and for the most part get excellent framerates with everything turned on max. There seems to be no immunity for city lag and CTD on any rig, so still be prepared for those, but I think you'll be able to have a great experience with VG with that rig.
I have a 7950 GT (512 MB) Nvidia card, 2.4GHz Core2Duo, and 2GB ram, and I can play at 1280x720 resolution with every single setting maxed. (16x anti-aliasing, 100% grass density, 100% tree detail range, volumetric clouds, the works.) at 40+ fps.
At 1920x1080 (That's a high resolution, slightly more pixels than 1600x1200)
1024x768 = 786,432
1280x720 = 921,600 pixels (I get 40 fps with every single setting max'ed and turned on.)
1280x1024= 1,310,720 pixels
1600x1200= 1,920,000 pixels
1920x1080= 2,073,600 pixels (I get 20-40fps, mostly 20. It's not much, but oddly enough it is completely beyond playable)
So whatever your resolution is, just giving you info that my 512MB 7950GT can do those two resolutions playable, with 1 million pixel resolutions or lower with perfection.
Now, taking from Tomshardware's website, the performance between one similar to mine and yours....
Lower Resolution --=-- Higher Resolution
Their 3DMARK SCORES (the higher, the better)
8800GTS 320MB: 15,100 --=-- 12,200
7900 GTX 512MB: 11,300 --=-- 8,500
So yours obviously is better than mine by a lot. Unless the card has problems with VG or vice versa, then you should be able to do any resolution completely fine.

I hope they have fixed a bit some perfomance issues this time around

And well it seems an interesting enough game until I see if WAR proves to be a good one or just a lot of hype.

What resolution are you playing at?
