It's a mistake to call these items, worthless vanity stuff. So called vanity items available in preorders as well as this card game gimmick can be worth a lot of ingame coin. Many players collect these types of things and will pay well for the rare cool ones.
Therefore It is accurate to refer to this as an RMT trade as some have already suggested, and that reality makes it a hypocritical act for Blizzard, a company which bans players for RMT trades. No item should exist in the game world which isn't available to all players equally for the same monthly subscription rate. Shame on you Blizzard.

All items gotten from the TCG are soul bound, if a player wins an item (and these just things like pets and special LOOKING mounts and offer no PvE or PvP advantage what so ever) they Cannot sell or trade them with players in-game, not even with NPC venders.
The only way you can turn an item won from the card game into money is to try and sell the winning card/code on ebay.

Non of the TGC items will effect the in-game economy or make a player more powerful. So why all the fuss?

You can always sell the account.
The fuss is about not having access to these items through normal gameplay and subscription fees. The gimmick is to compel you to buy the cards by making these so called vanity items attractive. It's distasteful.

You can always sell the account. Yes you can buy an account that has a TGC item but that item is still only of use to that character, you cannot transfer the item to another character. If some 1 wants to collect a bunch of accounts becuase they have TGC items how does that effect the ingame economy or player balance?
TGC items are just gimmicks and do not effect WoW at all. If TCG gave weapons and armor then yes its a problem but as it is its just a bit of fun and a harmless cross over between the two games.

so whats the big deal?
i for my case cant reach the best items couse i lack the time
some cant reach those vanity items couse they dont want to buy some cards
just for the chance of getting those items
some now seem to forget that it is just a game and buy premade chars for a nice
ammount of cash
i for myself get sometimes the feeling
that the poor guys who became the best trough investing a lot of time into the game cant stand
that the the rich part of society can again be better than them cause of their money and now they bitch about it...

Maybe so, but people who really enjoy the game for what it is (and not because they enjoy having better items than everyone else) don't care. I have yet to see even a single person with any of these "loot" items from the card game, and yes I know people in-game who have purchased sets from the TCG. Even if someone DID happen to have one, it doesn't affect me in any way. The odds are something like 1 in 36,000 that you will get a card, so normal people are not going to go out and drop dollar after dollar on sets of cards until they get that special item.
Of course, there will always be some crackpot who does it anyways, but that's why we have the lottery, right?
Frankly, I'm surprised people are complaining about this, but not about the special extra-fast epic mounts being given away by the Arena tournaments. Anyone can buy a pack of cards, but only a very select handful will ever receive one of those mounts.
