I can honestly say as a pre-cu player I would be willing to give up any current MMORPG and pay monthly for the pre-cu the emu devs are bringing, I just can't wait, not only that, I just can't wait to see the look on the SOE devs' faces if they get asked about the emu at some random summit

LA are as much to blame as SOE for ruining the game, it was LA after all that wanted all this iconic class based crap and SOE that happily went along and copied wow.

Not true. True they should never have approved of it, but it is now well established by statements made by current and former SOE employees that it was all SOE's doing. No ideas, concepts, designs or implementations came from LA. They only marketed the thing after they agreed to it.

LA wasn't the one that wanted all this iconic class based crap, SOE did. SOE happily went along and copied WoW because they convinced LA that this was the way to go. At least that is what all the evidence shows.

LA is surely guilty of allowing SOE to do this, but it all came solely from SOE.

There are various bands of SWG emulator groups developing their own SWG version.

Some are trying to put the game back to the way it was exactly.

others are trying to create the game pre-CU and add their own content in

and then some are redoing the game pre-CU with minor stuff such as armor and locations that exist post-NGE.



SWGEmu is one of the many.. though the largest in way of advertisement.

Exiled is putting in custom content and currently working on a new planet for one. In addition they're looking at adding the good stuff post-CU/NGE content unrelated to the profession system. A full team is working on the game to get it up and running as fast and as stable as possible.

Right now the game is in a playable status but alot is still missing. Takes a while to put together all the code!





Edit: Oh and when the Emulators are up and working... they're free. Those working on getting an emulator working for their community cannot charge a fee for the players as that would violate SOE's agreement to allow the Emulator. No monthly charge.. just free... old-school SWG.
