Ok guys, like most here. I was so afraid to go out and buy this game.

After playing so many MMO out there, and not getting what I wanted, even being in some of the more promising games in beta atm; they are going to suck as well. Please don’t ask, I won’t break NDA.

I decided to give VG a chance, like most here I hate SOE with a passion, I really mean HATE! But after coming to the conclusion, that every freaking game companies out there is going to do something that makes me not support them, for example Lineage II lets cheaters go on, without fear. But if you like MMOs like me; you have no choice ATM, none, well as I see it.

I started to play VG the other nite, First thing I noticed, I needed to get the UI to my taste, it was so cool that was able to make it almost any way I prefer, I was able to move and do things to my way. After running around I noticed I didn’t see the quest spam’s that I have seen in the other games. I was able to start to explore right away. I did die allot at first, in turn shows me this world is dangerous. As I left the easy areas, I had to really know my area that I am exploring, I couldn’t just roam around mindlessly, without any regard or I paid the price.

I really felt I was in the world itself. Through my adventures, I noticed NPC located throughout the lands, handing out quest for that area. I even found a book gotten off a mob as loot that gives me a quest. I was able go inside a cave and went pretty deep inside. I had to kill in a timely matter and pull very carefully, because getting a add meant a chance at me dyeing. I did all this by soloing.  Gear was dropping like mad inside this cave, I figure it was a group area, and I was pushing it, I did die later, but I blame that on myself for being careless, I was getting late. It was a blast; I really felt I was doing something worthwhile.

That’s about it so far, now I will talk about the bugs and performances. My computer was top of the line like 3 years ago, keep in mind these things when you hear what I am about to say next.

1) I built my own computer and torture test them very thoroughly when I add a new component to my system.

2) I keep my software up to date and virus clean.

3) My video setting is always at 1900x1200, my desktop and my games, always, keep this in mind now.

Ok, I had to play with the setting for an hour to make it work right. Keep in mind, there is allot of settings in VG, I mean allot, hence why it took me so long, which I like, because I am control freak. At 1900x1200 with most at mid setting, some higher, I was playing almost lag free. The game is so beautiful, allot better than some of new games, even better then lord of the rings, well way I see it. Combat was smooth, server lag was not noticed while I Played. I had very little bugs nothing that causes death or CTD, the game was very stable, very.

My final thoughts on VG is, If you want a game that you want to go adventure without the hand holding, then buy this game, you will love it. But if you want something like WOW, then get Lord of the Rings, that game is allot of fun but at a different level then VG. VG has more substance to the game, then just going through the motions. It’s truly an adventure that you will feel fear and make you think twice on what you’re going to do. My 2 cents on the game.

Awesome!  I was afraid to get the game before but now I think I'll go for it.  Thanks Yarisagos!!

Glad to hear you are having fun, and I hope you continue to do so. Watch out past lvl 15 though as grouping is basically mandatory, and it's really hard to find groups. You can solo through some of the quests, but around that time you start getting more group quests than solo.

Again though, glad you are enjoying, and welcome to Vanguard.

Thanks for the post, and I feel the same way about VG. It's a world, and there really is very little hand holding. You are quite free to experience the game in any way or order you wish. Crafting and Diplomacy also offer their own advantages and fun. I won't be able to play VG for some time as I don't have a video card atm and I won't have any money till after I get married. I will be back in august and I really just can't wait and there will be much improvement by then too.

Enjoy your time in Telon, and play it YOUR way.

I am glad you are enjoying Vanguard.

Your post reminded me of some of my first MMo experiences.

I had high hopes for VSoH. My experience in beta was nothing but ghastly. I truly did not want to see

another unfinished game reach the market. ( I prefer a game that will grow )

Eventualy I am sure I will join you, if only for a spell, I personaly don't see anything on the horizion to get

excited about.  Maybe, hopefuly, someday, VSoH will  finaly raise itself up and roar.

    for now...Potbs, perhaps

False, there are solo quests well into the 45+ ........ and grouping is far from mandatory.
