You need to find a Novice Farmhand, and some farmland to plant seed on. The easiest way is to make a Hobbit, because the shire has many farms. North of Hobbiton is the Superior Farms for Vegetable and Pipeweed.

Most farming is in the Shire, some in hobbit town of Staddle in Bree Land. You'll find novice farmers there that will sell you what you need, but next time you need help ask in the "Advice" chat Ch. in-game.

No problem, no reason an elf hunter can't farm in the shire.  A bit of a run down from Ered Luin, but nice scenery.

The economy is in the middle of being balanced, and right now most crafts are money sinks instead of earning professions.  Farming particularly.  This will change, but I'd suggest waiting for the changes to be put ingame before beginning farming.
