why do I like this game

This is my second time posting how much I enjoy this game. BUt I dont get it this game really doesn't have anything new and by far therei s no PVP and I love PVP. But for some reason I keep login in and the hours pass by as I play. My main question is that this game didn't need to do a open beta they should have just released it it looks like a winner to me.

I am going to give this game a year of play and hopfully it just keeps getting better with time. I would really enjoy a pvp system such as WOW has with two sides vs each other or maybe let players be evil charaters like goblins and trolls or orcs. Who knows

5 stars for me.

I'm glad they did open Beta.  I think it sucks.   Monster PVP is a joke.  Glad I didn't waste my money on it.  So the company is cool to me, but the game plain bores me.

Yeh, I love pvp too. It's my favorite thing in all games, I would have to say. Oh and btw, to help make your life easier and better, try out GW, and screw the idea of WoW :)

Lord of the Rings Online sounds like a cool game, and I'm hoping I can try it soon. Sadly I don't even know if it's monthly. Hopefully not....

    GW YES! WoW NO!

I think the open beta has secured a lot of subscriptions for Turbine. With the option to carry the characters over from beta to release I imagine quite a few people pre-ordered on the basis of the open beta or 'free trial' as it really is.

Fair play to Turbine for having a game that is playable.

I think it's incredibly dull personally and I uninstalled the client already, but I will be interested to see what people are saying about this game 3 months down the line.

I am playing beta now and I may not be well versed enough but my impression is that this game is pretty much a copy of what is already out there with an LOTR setting.  Where this game sells itself to me is the small things it does right: starting with full bags, scrollable chat text, OOC channel so people don't whine about subject matter, quest givers showing up on your map when they have a quest, not just when you need to turn one in, the zones aren't so overcrowded with mobs that I have to dodge agro constantly (I can enjoy my travel on foot) and there are other things.  I do think this is the beginning of games copying the WoW formula (if you want to call it that) and building upon its success by improving what they can, where they can.  I have enjoyed my time on this game.

[Here's a list of all the games I've played and/or my computer specs to show how much more seasoned or technologically advanced I am than you.]

I have been thoroughly enjoying the game on open beta.  I even decided to pre-order a few days ago and have joined with some other players to create a kinship.  The aspects I like the best are the great detail in the art and the towns.  They development team has obviously put a great effort into re-creating the image of Middle-Earth as it is in the books.  Sure, most of the features are features that are found in other MMO's, but it would have be ludricous to believe that any new MMO is not going to include the popular features from other MMO's to placate the masses of whining bloggers and forum attention seekers.  What has saddened me the most is seeing these masses constantly taking over the "OOC" channel in the game, resulting on my changing the color of the font to something that I now ignore to avoid distractions.  I am used to seeing that during the initial release of past MMO's so I expect that the annoying complaints will dwindle down within a couple of months from initial release.
