Gotta give credit where it is due imho
just reinstalled the game and started playing again.
on my lowside rig i can now run it balanced with a bit lower textures on 1280/1024 and so far so good.
prolly have to set and tweak it a bit more (and defrag) but so far it looks good without any ini tweaks and whatmore.

Asking for in concern for a friend that maybe can run the game.
If the patches has made a big difference for you I'd be glad.
I'm so broke. I can't even pay attention.
"You have the right not to be killed"
More options in settings.
BAm! wALL OF sCreenshot, did alittle cut&paste, as i can't enlarge the setting window ingame the way its unfold here.
no i havent done anything special at all, it just runs a LOT smoother, and there are MANY more tweaking options avaiable at the moment. you can set textures lower, but they in fact look a LOT better then they did before (not like before's high performance wich was shitty)
It not only runs good now (well could still be better) but even looks good
I hope its enough to bring back some playerbase to the game
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
is the fun factor fixed?
The technical factor was last on my list as to why I left.
For me, the number one killer was the lack of fun factor

What = fun?
Well yeah it does seem rather empty, but i also still have my WoW account active, so i am not stepping over out of nothing.
The character skeletons are unibody so one character or 100 it isnt go to make that much difference. This is the primary reason they went with this form.
Also, you should go in a crafting room during off-peak hours. I spent a couple of mornings (GMT) in HZ and the /who list maxed out at the 40 player mark. (For those who dont know, Hathor Zhi is the Dark Elf starter town).
Ironically enough, when I had done all the crafting and harvesting advancement I returned to my normal L40 hunting area to find it felt laggy. This decrease in my usual performance continued for 2 nights but after yesterdays patch has returned to normal - I suspect they had underlying processes going to ready the live servers for the new patch?
Anyway, Ive never had performance problems personally, so I cant say I feel the improvements; probably get 10-15 more fps now than beta/launch but its all just numbers. Some chunks I can glide through almost as if they werent there, some take about 10 seconds to transit through but if I was averaging it Id say it takes 2/3 seconds to move through chunks. I will eventually double my RAM to 2gb ofcourse but I dont expect any great shakes except for an improved loading time.
On the lower settings its even better, at least it looks good now while being playable!
I think this is a very good way in the right direction.
For the sake of the vanguard fanbase i do hope that they can fix this as i could really feel at home with this game but not with the way it runs at the moment. I know that i can upgrade my machine but i just do not have the money to do this as we all know we can not get blood out of stone, i just wish that when the game states what is needed t run it , it would run it beacuase mine meets reccommended but still fails to run anywhere past balanced.
But it is running better now that i can guarantee.
You couldn't be farther from the truth. All zones I adventure in now always show at least 40 peeps with the /who command. The population as spread out, so the starter cities have less peeps (Leth Nurae typically has 30 instead of 40). But places like RoTK, Southwatch, Wardship are maxing at 40 players. Despite this performance does seem to be improving. The BIGGEST improvement for me as been the locking down of the memory leak. I don't think it's tied up completely, but it's a heckuva lot better than it was.
