Eh? hell no, AoC combat is nothing at all like the meaningless clickfest in NGE SWG, I'd suggest taking a closer look at how it works. In fact, if nothing else, the mouse is a secondary option, most players will probably be using the keyboard alone for combat.
But in any case:
A.) The crafting paths you can take are determined by what prestige class you choose. Choosing Lord, Master, or Commander at level 40 only grants you access to one or two paths chosen by the prestige class, but each has their own benefits. Choosing the Crafter prestige class grants you access to all forms of crafting.
B.) Materials for crafting are gathered from a number of sources, mostly through the activities of a guild in the city siege territories.
C.) Many items will require parts from various crafting disciplines, if you are not versed in all of the ones required, you will have to work together with others. (IE. A weaponsmith might require cured leather straps from an armorsmith for the grip before making a sword, and cut gemstones from a gemcutter to attach to it afterwards.)
D.) Crafting disciplines are advanced through a series of progressively difficult quests, not grinding recipes.
E.) Only crafted goods are customizable, with its stats and abilities affected through the attachment of various cut and polished gemstones.
F.) Partly because of E, crafted goods are considered significantly better overall than any kind of lootable gear (assuming similar levels of quality)
