How does this game run with built in graphics such as the intel gma 950? I dont mind playing on low detail as id be using my laptop

is it ok not to use a mouse and just use the touch pad of the laptop?

I played wow like this many times and it was fine once i remembered all the hotkeys.

If WOW ran fine for you - then you should be able to run LOTRO on the lower end settings... LOTRO is slightly more intense than WoW so you'll have to make a better educated guess as to if it will be playable on your computer... I had a rl friend who has a really old computer with a built in and his actually ran it on medium settings, and his computer absolutely barely ran WoW.
  • It still looks great on low settings. Not gigantic blocks walking around like some people may think when they hear low settings.

The best thing to do is get a world tour open beta key from the main site. Then you can try the game and see if it will run on your PC or laptop. This way you are not out the money if for some reason you can't run it. There is still 4 days left to open beta. Have fun.

You can download the Beta and try it out..   The current download is the low texture client (which is probably what you want with onboard graphics).  Open Beta ends.. This Monday the 23rd I believe.  Game goes live on the 24th.

I was about do that myself vista is having some bugy issues with the sound, sound nasty when playing LOTRO sounded even worse when I used my creative card which I had to remove and now i'm using my mobo sound. tss hope they sort this out in vista SP1

There is a known issue with vista. If you are able to run XP do it. The game runs fine on XP. I personally will not get vista until they have released the first service pack that will eliminate alot of the bugs that infest this OS. I know alot of people are haveing trouble running the game on vista. Cause Microsoft never releases a non buggy OS. They let the consumer buy the OS then work the bugs out for them.

Well i will get the game on tuesday and see what happens, if its hindered by crappy vista then ill just install XP Pro instead, but id rather try it on vista first to save me some time! Only reason im using vista is because this laptop came with it pre installed it cost more to get one with XP Pre installed! Crazy!
