That doesn't like those giant robot pets in Recluse's Victory for PvP. Now im not saying they are unfair, but it seems like everyone grabs them just to one shot other players. At least on my server.
Also am i the only one that thinks Fly can be cancelled to countered by more skills than other travel powers like Super Speed?

The drawback on the Heavies is that they move slowly. A hit & run approach or TP foe can leave someone with their pet way behind. With how common movement is in combat, that can be pretty significant as you have to worry about leaving the pet behind when you flee or chase. As such, they tend to be more appreciated in turret assaults than in PvP.
That said, they are very powreful and I wouldn't want to be without one when faceing an enemy with a pet. They do add to the zone dynamic, for AV assaults or turret fights. But they have different input when there are 3 people in the zone each having one, then when there are 40 people with a few spread around.
You're right on the second things. Jump is generally used for comparison, as there is way more -fly than -jump. Slows are strong, as anyone who'se been caught in a CoT Earth Caster's quicksand can tell you. But the problem with those is many of the slows are patches (quicksand, caltrops, tar patch, etc). And quicksand especially gets avoided by players who constantly jump - the server never gets a chance to update when they're on the ground so it never applies. This is a technical problem that they acknowledge but don't have a good solution for.
