The real morons are the poeple that lie about a GAME on both sides.
Is the population anywhere near Pre-CU or even CU, no not on corbantis anyway.
Is the game unplayable, no. I use the exact keymap that I used pre-cu. ( you do have to re-autoattack each target)
Is the game slightly better than when NGE first came out, no . It is a helluva alot better.
People constantly want the return of the old ways, but when things are brought back to the game they flame them???
Was the sandbox one of the, if not the best part of SWG, IMHO yes. But it is gone , *sniff*.
Is the template system for profession now sorta WoWish, yes.
Do all Jedi, BHers, .... have the same abilities and templates, no. Many different combos are out there. Again not near the sandbox combo numbers, but a far cry from linear progression only.
Is the crafting system still the most complex one out there, yes, again IMHO.
Was Pre-CU without ABUNCH of bugs, no. There were more bugs in pre-CU than there in today version.
Do experimentation and resources have the huge effect that it had in CU even, no. But it does still have a very nice effect.
Can you mix and match food buffs, no. Only one food or drink at a time now, this one sucks especially hard for an Elder Chef/BE.
Do mobs still shoot through walls, yes, *sigh* geez this one has been around for 3 years at least.
I have posted over and over that corbantis population is better than at NGE first release. But I have never said it was at CU levels, because it is not. I grinded out a full temp jedi during the Vis period. I liked having to hide my saber in public and I also liked the BH encounters. Is it a good game now, surely it is. Is it better or as good as Pre-CU/CU no.
Is the one thing SWG needs the most more players, again IMHO YES!!
The CU and NGE didn't kill SWG for me. I got sick of waiting month after month for them to fix the problems, purely because SOE didnt have full control, changes needed to be cleared by Lucas Arts first and the deadlines for releasing expansions had to be met. I remember the saga with the wookie armour, was well over a month from the first announcement that they were trying to put it in to the point where LA gave them the go ahead.
After waiting the best part of a year for the combat fixes and profession rebalancing most people had enough and then JTL was released. For me this was the final straw, much as I enjoyed the game it was clear that the much needed fixes were seen to be less important than releasing an expansion to cash in on the Episode 2 DVD release, likewise Rage of the Wookies was timed to coincide with Episode 3 coming out at the cinema and Trails of ObiWan to coincide with Episode 3 coming out on DVD. I have no doubt that this strategy was agreed in the original contract between SOE/LA and the main reason why SOE never appeared to have enough staff to fix the current issues in game.
