Lineage 2 beginner

Hello,

As a new player (LVL 17, Human Fighter) and have a few questions about Lineage 2 and  hoping for some advice/feedback.

-    I have noticed that there are times that I gain more experience killing yellow monsters than killing red monsters.  is there a reason for this?  I would think higher the level monster more experience  you would get?

-   Since leveling requires some patience and I really do not want to have many regrets ,  what would be the best  class to choose when I become level 20 ( I am looking for a class that can solo) ...I am a human fighter as of right now.

-   What would be the best way to spend my skill points (I don't think I can get them refunded or if I can I am sure there will be a penalty).  Should I wait as long as possible to spend my skill points or should I focus on a certain area.

-    Any other advice such as areas with monsters that give above average experience points would be great.

Thanks in advance to everyones responses!

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

First off, you should be killing Greens and Whites. Though you will get more xp for yellow, you will have more downtime (and besides it takes longer). The idea is to mow through the mobs with as little stopping as possible.

However, I've noticed the yellow/red thing a few years ago when looking for a new place to lvl. I can't answer "why" but that it just "is". It might be because they just don't want you lvling in these places. Who knows.

I know nothing about human fighters so can't help with skill points. You might also post on the official forums (though perhaps do a search there before you do).

Though, keep in mind, you always get skill points. You can't gimp your character.I just had 15 million skill points and it really doesn't matter what I spend a third or more of them on as I'll get more.

So experiment. That is sort of the idea with these classes. At the lower lvls you can experiment and then decide what you want your first class change to be. In some cases you can also do this with the 2nd class change. so go nuts.

Well I can help you out some:

To the leveling yellow mobs giving more exp than some red mobs.  For each level range there are certain mobs that give bonuses, i used to have a list of what all those mobs were, they are the most efficient to hunt.  I agree that at your level you should be going after mainly whites and greens though.

If you want to solo, human fighter was not the best choice.  You can still go for either an Archer (HawkEye) or Tank (Dark Avenger) to have pretty good solobility. As for skill points, you have to decide what you want to do early on, and then get skills specifically for that class.  Like if you feel like you want to go tank, don't get powershot or mortal blow.

For 1-40 This is what i've done a lot of times

1-14 you should do on your own easily, just progress through mobs sticking with greens and whites.

14-20 go into the fortress near your starter town.  grind it out there and find a play style you like

20-25 just north of dion there are some great mobs

25-33 You can mix it up a little bit.. I usually start in cruma swamps and then move to Partisan's hideaway once i'm 30 or so. then maybe i go further into cruma swamps once things start getting boring again.

33-40 i get very bored.  I would start doing your quests as  soon as possible, i know it takes a while but just stick with it.  You'll have to hunt in the wastelands, EG, Cruma Swamps anyways so you might get some quest items doing it.

    Easiest classes to solo level

Summoners: They can go on forever soloing

    Mages: SH>Necro>Sorc>SpS

    Archers: SR>PR>HE

    Tanks: SK>DA>TK

Daggers: none are really that good soloing w/o buffs...

Other Fighters : Destroyers, Tyrants, Gladiators, Warlords and Dwarves all suck w/o buffs

if you had a buff bot it would be so much easier... but hey whatever

The amount of xp you get per kill is usually directly related to how much hp the mob has. Double hp mobs give double xp, even though they may be lower level than other mobs that have less hp.

Most Fighter classes that want to solo after 40 go for the Archer class. For you this means Rogue at 20 and then Hawkeye at 40. Being a Rogue you may find that soloing levels 35-40 will be hard but doable with plenty of SS and Healing Pots.My best advice is to use a decent dagger until 40 as they do more total damage over time than bows at these levels. Once you hit 40 however and get your 3rd class Bow skills you will find it will become much easier to solo as most mobs will be at less than half health before they even get close to you. I have a level 7x Phantom Ranger(Dark Elf Archer) and I can still solo with ease which is something most classes can't boast at my level.
