CoH + Satellite = ?

I'm one of those unfortunate souls that's just a tiny bit too far for DSL or cablemodem, and phone lines that are a little too degraded (eg. 24k connect). So DirecWay is our only option. image

Anyhow, couple o' questions. Does anyone play CoH on a satellite connection? And if so, is it playable or does it limit you in any aspects of the game?

I've had success playing HZ on satellite, but EQ is much too laggy.

I'm also thinking about L2... see above questions...

    You should not play online games that have any realtime aspect on a satellite system. IN my experience the best ping times you will see on such a system are nearing 1 second due to the time it takes to send to the satellite, and retransmit back to earth.

    One more time... I understand the limitations all too well of using a satellite connection for online gaming. However, some MMOGs are playable, some aren't. HZ is, EQ isn't. My question is whether anyone currently plays CoH over DirecWay and what their thoughts are.

    There was a database crash and about an hour and a half of data was lost yesterday evening.
