About customizing skillsets and attributes...

I havent seemed to be able to spot this information anywhere. Is there any ways of customizing the skillsets and attributes on your character besides body slots? Like tech trees, ability points, talents or anything like that?

Well you see, you pick which skills you get. When you start the game you pick warrior, mage or rogue then depending on which you choose you get to select from a few different skills and choose. Then as you gain levels you gain more attribute points which you can place on Mind, Body or Focus. Also with levels you gain the ability to gain more skills, which you pick from a larger class pool. Then once you hit 5 and are abile to get your arch class you will be opended up into a new more selective skill pool which you can choose skills in as you level aswell. So as you can see with so many choices very few characters will have the same exact skills and attribute sets ever, unlike in games like WoW or LoTRO where everyone is duplicate of another. Also so far there has been no talk of "Respecing", this fits in with the devs plan to keep people trying to find the best skil deck and now copy/pasting goodplayers decks into their own. So if there really is no respecing should see alot more diversity.

Well as you level through the game as your class you need to pick skills to learn as you progress some are class only others are not however you cannot have them all. Also from this you have your deck which are the skills you are currently using (skills can be added or removed from your deck but a limit to how many can be put there is in place).

Again as you level your skills gain slots with you can put modifying sigils in. So this your body slots and weapon slots are all that i know at least that you can use to change your char's statistics. However i think sigils are going to be quite numerous and variable thus should provide quite a lot of  customability.

Wow. Personally, I find the idea ofhaving no respeccing just quite tedious. Its just silly, quite simply because when noobs plays they'll choose skills they'll regret choosing. Ok, so you cant respec what class you've chosen in most class based MMORPGs, but comparing that and skills is silly anyway; as class is about taste, but skills is about selecting a character that actually works in combat. Why cant they just include super expensive respeccing? Or is it super easy respeccing a new character?

Hmmm while I understand why they might want to stay away from Respecing, as the above reasons are very well made points. It would stop the annoying; flavour of the week, cookie cutter skill deck that has kind of ruined Guild Wars for me. But having no Respecing what so ever is a bit daunting I must admit.. I personally would like to see maybe like a time restriction on it, e.g say each player is aloud one Respec every 14 days or what ever the Devs see fit. That would be a decent compromise  in my eyes for making sure players arnt resetting their skills at the drop of a hat. It would, for lack of a better word, force player to think about their build and hopefully keep with the individuality of players and their skill but also keep a fall back element of freedom.

You said it bro. >:O Having respeccing at a great cost would hinder flavour of the week as well giving people to actually learn by their mistakes. but then, let us all just wait and see what the dutch'll slap on the table on release day. maybe it'll turn out to be a good system.
