i wish. my local game shops are always screwing me over.  LOTRO will only be released were i am on the 8th of next month.  like most games i either get them weeks to months later or in most cases dont get them at all.  i have turned to Digital downloads in the hope that i dont miss out on the experience of playing a game in its infancy.   oh well i can only hope they bring out the digital download in the next week or i will need to buy it from the game shops

ok 1st of all a digital download is different from ordering online (i can do that anyway but it costs extra for postage and so on)  and digital downloads are usually cheaper and faster.  ty for the link though that might help some  people

I doubt you'll see a digital download come out.  When the beta came out they didn't ship the high res client because it was too large so the only way you could get it was via a physical disk (like the pre-order).....

Can't see them adding a digital download right now for the same reason...

large shouldnt be an issue... I have a 15 meg fiber line, I downloaded a 17gig vanguard install

Would everyone be able to dl it? no.

But there is a HUGE demand for digital distro, and if you host it yourself, its 100% profit no publishing fees

How about Dungeons & Dragons Online? Turbine is distributing it as a Digital Download(but Codemasters aren't, just because they are retarded)with low res textures...now if high res textures are sooo important, I'm sure they could also offer that version...

You can download the game from fileplanet etc, then just update :)

I then went onto buying a CD key from Offgamers.

That was my way of getting it digitally, and it only took me 5 minutes to get the key, the only time consuming part can be downloading.
