i was wondering if anyone could help me on deciding if i should get this game

i like:

big lands

exploration

economy (to a certain extent)

faster lvling than WoW

faster max lvl than WoW (a must)

nice PvE

monsters that are fun to fight

the ability to go out into a random spot and grind off some orcs (or other mobs)

as little forced grouping as possible

low instancing(none would be great)

decent outlook for the game (in my mind its gonna be great but i havent played yet)

MMO wish list:

-Changeable worlds
-Solid non level based game

big lands - Not all that big right now...will have expansions that make it so, but certainly no VG...smaller than WOW at launch as well however every zone is packed full of content...

exploration - Well, that goes hand in hand with first item..there's things to explore, I take my time and go everywhere, but you don't have to.

economy (to a certain extent) - They are still balancing the economy right now... hard to say where it will land...but both of my level 16's have more than enough silver to repair themselves, buy any armor/weapons (besides the spendy purple stuff) and I don't have to craft to get them.

faster lvling than WoW - I'm thinking its about the same really....

faster max lvl than WoW (a must) - er.. you kmow, WOW is one of the fastest max level games in existance, and you want faster? What will you do once you get there?  I've not done it..but I'm saying about the same for now

nice PvE -Yep, really nice Pve....but it is typical MMORPG faire...if you are tired of it you might not be impressed... but I like it.

monsters that are fun to fight - So far its been mostly smash em down.... certainly not like a WOW raid boss..but again..I'm level 16.

the ability to go out into a random spot and grind off some orcs (or other mobs) - funny you should mention this...you will have to go do exactly this to level up some of your traits/deeds

as little forced grouping as possible - Well, the groupings not forced, but you're going to want to do it for the better quest rewards and stuff...but getting a pug together is pretty easy right now...

low instancing(none would be great) - Uh no...instances play an integral part of the story line quests and those at large....I'd call it a balance really, about 60% open world hunting and 40% instances...but the good news is..you normally only run them through one time.

decent outlook for the game (in my mind its gonna be great but i havent played yet) - Well, for those of us who like it..we're seeing nothing but blue sky. They've already announce the first expansion (for June) and its totally free..... gotta love free....

Its hard to say if this game is for you..it misses in some of your key points.... I would have recommended you give it a free trial when it was in Close/Open beta.... but too late for that now...

well i am disappointed about the instancing and i am shocked that WoW has a quick lvl system.  then again it took me 11 months whereas others might have only taken 6.  with this expansion does it ad any lands or is it basically a patch to fix some of the old content?

takes less than 2weeks for 1 to 70 in wow (if you have the time) my wife who only plays 1 or 2 hours a day still done max level in under 3 months.

you dont say how much you play but if it took you 11 months to get max level in wow you will be looking at about 18 months in lotro

Yes, World of Warcrap is indeed very fast. It took you 11 months? Then I will just assume you played very casually and took your time and maybe made alts? As far as I know you can get max lvl after 2 weeks, dont know now with the new expansion though.

But more on point... Yes you should pick up the game.

well it seems to me that LOTRO has the story to keep me going (after all it is lord of the rings).  my crap speed amazed most of my friends and at times myself.  i did make alts but they diddnt take up more than 50 hours of gameplay from me.  WoW wasnt my first MMO but it was the first for me to get to max lvl.  it was the best game i have ever played (excluding lvl 30+)  the beginning 30 lvls were amazing and fun...then it got crap and it took me ages to lvl

i thought level 30-50 in wow was tedious and annoying i ended up really hating the zones these levels took place in! once i got over the hump of 50 the 50s seemed to breeze past!
