While I love the game, the 'Special Edition' was kind of a let down to me. Specifically, the map of middle earth which was an off colour piece of paper rather than the CLOTH map I thought it was going to be... it was folded up into three to fit the box but is still quite a tiny map with very limited detail. I was hoping to have something I could actually put up on a wall or something but no such luck. I haven't yet listenned to the soundtrack or watched the 'behind the scenes' but I keep thinking 'Meh, should've just bought the standard.'
I don't know how great that special item is yet either which gives Hope +1 but I'm sure it won't make a huge difference in game. Europe really scored big with LotrO : Didn't they get a RING, a cloth map and an RP server as well and it all came in a very appealing large 'book' package?
Ah well the game is still what's important...and that's all there

I knew the map was going to be paper as they said parchment, but I did expect it to be atleast 1foot by 2foot to be to size of a decent poster to hang up. I just threw it out, complete waiste. Well, the sound track was worth the 10 bucks though so I realy can't complain.
For 120$ they can have it rofl.
The Europein special edittion is not very good you get a paper map of one section of the game world.
You get I free in- game item whch is OK.
The really good part of the special is 45 free days which is nice.
Overall it's a ok special edition.
On the plus side though, the box itself is good, with leather binding and everything, and the manual is a hardcover book, albeit a somewhat cheap-looking one, like a tacky hotel bible kind of, but still quite nice
