how time consuming is the harvesting process?
what is involved with crafting in itself? is it like swg, eq2, or wow crafting? or something totally different?
throughout your crafting career, what are crafted items like, in comparison to drops?
does your name get put on any items?
could we please get correspondent writers and moderators, on the eve forum at mmorpg.com, who are well-versed on eve-online and aren't just passersby pushing buttons? pretty please?

Harvesting sometimes can take a while, sometimes you get lucky and find what you are looking for every where you turn.
Crafting is pretty easy. If you have a bunch of ingredients, you can select the amount of items you want crafted and walk away from the comp. Having said that though, there are times when you need to put rares and your ingredients together for a critical chance at a mastercrafted item.
Yes your name gets put on items and when someone inspects a character they can see who made the item. Also you get crafting titles so you can sorta advertise while you are out and about. I saw a Grand Master Metalsmith the other day.
Also when you combine rare ingredients with regular ingredients and get a crit these items are better than most drops.
