Virus?

I was reading these boards yesterday and my AntiVir detected  EXP/Ani.gen.I wrote mmorpg.com staff to report this. They answered that the issue had  been detected a few hours later.  You may check the most significant part of the printscreen picture I sent : http://www.pourieux.com/images/virus.JPG .But unfortunately, it seems that the virus made some damage since the thread "I just gotta say..." from Azathoth disapeared from the list.

 

Since I was intending to answer this let's say interesting thread (I feel a bit concerned), and since the link to the thread is still working ATM (you may read it at: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm?thread=127771&bhcp=1 ), I will give here the answer I did not have the chance to post:

Well, you seem very upset, and I feel really sorry for you. But as you can see, you can talk to me and get an answer. And I am also very sorry that you are so pissed about DnL. I can guarantee, contrary to what you seem to think, that I did all my best on DnL when I was a developer of that game, and that the engine (Mafate) was not sucking in 2003 and 2004. Probably there are still beta testers of that period who could confirm this. As I explained, I (and many other people) had very good reasons to quit in 2004/2005, which have nothing to do with French natinonality.

 

 But it appears that this is not the subject you want to talk about, correct? Let me guess why you opened this interesting thread:

 

1- Hypothetical analysis:

 

When you say that I am not able produce a smooth version of my engine, I guess you are speaking about vieWTerra beta test.

 

So maybe you tried our in-development game engine beta, correct?

And of course, since the community website (www.monde3D.com, a community of 800 people ATM) is under attack (again), you cannot post your comments in our English section, correct?

 

Or you've just read some negative comments from people who preferred to spread their message on other boards rather than to help the development of our project in posting in our bug report / comments sections? Correct?

 

Or maybe you are just trying to tell me that you would be happy to make a try and to test and report your comments too. In this case, I am very sorry again,but I think you can understand that we have to make sure we won't be hacked again before reopening the community website, that is to say you can't register yourself to the beta today. Try a little bit later.

 

Anyhow, our server has for now a very limited bandwidth and may not work properly in your area (US, correct?). We don't promise a server capable of handling 1 million people worldwide and we don't advertise everywhere such a feature is realistic, totally feasible and revolutionary before even checking this is technically and financially feasible. Sorry if you had dreams about DnL because of the promises the "devs" in charge of communication made. But you can still put all your faith in the SnailGame Chinese version to come, don't you? And if this strategy doesn't work, you can still put the blame on me again, don't you? Well, as far as I am concerned, I don't think SnailGame will put me/VWorldTerrain on the credits of their game, which is bound to present the very same terrain Dark and Light western version presents.           

 

2- More realistic analysis (shorter):

 

Your goal is only to flame a developer. You may perfectly go on doing your best to do it this way, but I am not sure this is one concern a real player would have.

 

Last thing: you are not indeed government (apparently fortunately), but I agree: I think like you that somebody should pay.... soon (copyright who you know)

BTW, there is an update of pourieux.com to come (written 3 days ago and waiting for my lawyer's green light).

My answer being done, I hope the virus did not make too much damage. As you can see on the picture I sent to mmorpg.com, the damage potential is classified as "Low". But I am in a good position to state these anonymous attacks are slightly annoying and generally have no other goal but to try to hinder a process whose outcome is inevitable: the servers of my company were massively attacked one month ago and in addition to this last week the community server of our project was hacked too. Regarding Azathoth thread, I made a screenshot capture, just in case the virus is still alive and tries to destroy his literature.

Ah _Pix_ ---- seems even with their pitiful attempts at trying to act like nice competent ppl, they have their old moles and trolls and shills out in force again. Im sure its frustrating as all heck for them to understand that you wont let this issue rest until Farlan fesses up and admits they are just a load of crapola. Im behind ya all the way. Your response was very clear and reasonable. I doubt very highly the DNL ppl can comprehend it though.

Aye Cholayna, not granted that they will comprehend. That's why Pourieux.com continues to be updated for them to read and re-read so that they can grasp what the matter is in their own language.

LMAO -- good deal. But ya know........doesnt seem to sink in with these guys no matter how sensible and factual something is...they just keep denying it. LOL This is sooooo much fun. The more they try to keep this quiet , the more they look like complete and total imbeciles.
