In one year I went from new player to CEO of a 40 man corp and a alliance council member for a 800 man alliance,  and no I did not buy a character.   If you like this game and you are new do not get discouraged and all that crap you see posted by the vets, they dont even see the side of the game us younger players do because they have blinders on and are jaded.  So get out thier and make yourself great at whatever you do.

Every person has their own path, not everyone plays to lead.

As me and some of the other vets have said many times before... There are many roles in EVE, you just have to find yours. For the OP was leading, he got what he wished for. For others is bounty hunting, piracy, criminals, manufacturer, researcher, entertainer, psychologist... What I mean is, it doesn't even has to be within the game's mechanics. Use your imagination and do your part.

Yeah, I just went through a period recently where Myself as a 2 year vet. just wanted to be the average grunt on the line. Was alot of fun even though i was being ordered around by some 6 month old pups!!

HEH I went the other way, from a 0.0 corp/allance leader to a 1 man corp.

I don;'t have to listen to anyone whine about anything, I don't have to deal with the politics or the egos of anyone else.

Most "vets" retire or return back to empire. Yes you can actually work in EVE and become a leader (great or infamous) but if you already have a real job then why would you want to have to work at running a corp when you could just play (when you want).

Yes, work you butt off and become a leader of of a huge corp, best wishes and all that.  When you have had enough with the bickering in your corp and alliance, well there is always a place near the fishing hole where you can just come play and relax.

Good job on your success, although I've always liked to do my own thing more with a few friends.

Eve is the greatest game, so many diferent directions a person can go. If you cant find a place in Eve to be happy you either have not looked in the right place. Or you just cant be happy any where.

Well, I'm playing EVE right now. Me pirate or players....well they can just be pod killed kill everything you can see is what i want to do.

Make a Corp of people who want to kill everything. Run waste to EVE....be feared. Right now i'm still new so i just stick to 0.6 area's clearing asteroid belts of what ever is in them and salvaging it.

I don't get where people call the vets jaded.  Most of the people who post negatively about EVE aren't really vets.  They're disgruntled former players or they're people who have never played at all or they are people who played like a month and didn't like it.  Most of the Vets will openly and honestly say that a new player has just as much chance to succeed within EVE as any other player.  EVE is, literally, whatever you want it to be.

It's a sandbox.  Get your shovel, bucket and tools and go build something in it.  Just be careful though :)  Other kids play in this sandbox too, and it's fun kicking other people's castles down for some of them.

I don't know who they are but the people who bitch about High Sec PvP, Scams, Suicide Ganks, Ore Thieves, "War Declaration Abuse," walking in Stations, and alt meta gaming, piss me off!

By the way, I want to destroy things, I want to be infamous.  Not because I am an ass in real life, to be honest I'm rather helpful.  I want to be a villain because good stories have a really cruel SOB in em

    Mr. Sporn-istoc

    Please stop this song

    You've got me wrong

    I'm really not as strong

a player as you might think.

    Mr. Sporn-istoc

    Please take a look

    I'm not a crook

    I'm just a snook

The bottom like is that I STINK

I'm going to get ganked for this now if I play. I just know it.
