Question about classic servers

MakurosuMakurosu Member Posts: 30
Sorry for the n00bish question, I'm just checking out DOAC for the first time. From lurking here at the forums, I've seen that a lot of folks dislike "TOA" and prefer classic servers. What was changed that so many players hated? Is one or the other better for solo play?

The classic Daoc was a more 8v8 RVR base game where all they did was go to the mile gate and killed each other it was no solo base on the classic server cause you had to be a the mile gate just to get a kill. Well Mythic changed that with TOA cause when TOA came out maybe a few month down the road they came out with New Frontiers and alot people cried about it cause they didn't want any new changes people didn't want to adept so alot left the game after that. But I know mythic didn't do it to piss off people but just to make the game better to make it what it should be a Realm vs Realm game a war game not a if you dont have a rvr guild you can't rvr game.

When ToA released many people quit, it made the game too imbalanced and changed the game to what gear people had instead of how the charactar was played. I quit after ToA because i was a casual player and didn't have enough time to grind my way to the top and get all the best items ontop of the fact it was a bit lame -.-. I came to the Classic servers and loved them, just like old daoc but with better graphics and a few added (fun) tweaks such as Darkness Rising =)
