The funniest thing I saw was someone in OOC saying "WTF I just bought 50 barrow-iron ore for 1g 99s because this asshole put the bid up for 50s and buyout for 1g 99s, when I thought it was only 99s." I don't know why I thought it was funny but I just started laughing my ass off.

Fighting the "Taliban goblins" is pretty fun.

That's what i named them after seeing them in action.

It's goblins that carry around burning firepots over their head and when you attack them from range they sometimes stop up and throw their own firepots right at themselves so they go up into flames.

    Stupid gobbers.

Those sapper goblins are hilarious when they drop the firepots on themselves.

The most funny thing I've seen is this quest in the Shire to blow up some fireworks in a brigand camp. There were these 3 brigands standing near their tent, and when the fireworks went off the brigands caught on fire and went running into a pond.

The funniest thing I've encountered so far, was reading the chat from some WoW players that were tryng the free open BETA. These two had believed everything they had read in the forums about LOTRO was a WoW clone and that it was exactly like WoW with diffrent skins. These WoW players were so upset, saying that this is missing and that isn't there and what happened to this other thing and where did the put the.... you get the idea.

Then they got even more upset when people tried to explain that nothing was missing or broken, and that the LOTRO UI isn't a copy of WoW.

    It was a hoot.

OT but look where WoW stole their UI from.

Asherons Call maded by TURBINE who maded LOTRO.

Turbine just reused their own UI.

AC UI is a WoW clone!  I knew it, Turbine  time traveled and copied the UI.

    All MMOs are WoW clones.

    Thanks for the laughs guys.

I think the funniest thing I've seen is the flying Heralds, but they have been around since Beta 1.

The funniest thing I had seen:

Occured when venturing into Barrow downs was fighting some wights  near the Northern barrows when to my left  I seen a solo captain following the NPC Lalia on what I later found out is a quest  and suddnely about 6 wights and a Noxius Wight sprung up around him .

He swung once or twice then high tailed it right past me out of the Barrows I was lauging so hard I had tears  !!!!

The funniest thing that saw was when I was showing my wife the game in beta and had my lvl 20 something burglar stealthing around the Barrows and 3 wights came up out of their graves. She about soiled her panties. I t was one of those FEAR/Resident Evil moments. It was a combination of the music and the ambiance that did it.

    I miss DAoC

I was hanging out in the lone-lands on my level 20 champ, killing some wolves around these ruins with goblins.  I had a few quests to finish here, having some fun but I was careful because there was this mean I think level 21 warg that was pretty close to me, he was an elite.

This level 18 ventured into the area I was in and he just went and charged that elite.   I thought it was pretty funny he didn't bother to check if it were an elite first.  Poor little hobbit minstril.  Lucky for him though, 2 other players came in the area and the 4 of us did manage to take that elite down but it was a tough fight.  Lucky hobbit.

On the subject of combat sounds, I was fighting FEMALE southern warriors.  (Had the speakers turned up, as I find the music and sounds of LOTRO to be great)  When fighting, some of the sounds coming out of the female southern warriors mouths were....well....interesting.   Interesting enough to bring my son  down stairs from his room with  a curious look  on his face.  It was too funny.

Taliban goblins and WoW players in chat.......lol

OMG I totally forgot about the southern female warriors and there sounds. I won't say what they sound like in order to not ruin the surprise but go around and kill some females and you will see what we are talking about.

I was in the Old Forrest hunting wolves, when suddenly this baldy human champion runs up to me and waves.  I waved back and spoke in roleplaying fashion:

    Me: "Hail stranger."

    Champ: "Kill?"

Me: "What? Wolves? Yes I'm killing wolves."

    Champ: "Kill?"

    Me: "Care to join me?"

    Champ: "Kill."

    Me: *invites champ*

    Champ: *Declines from joining fellowship*

    Champ: "Kill?"

    Me: "Aaallllright... what?!"

    Champ: */confused*  "Kill?"

    Me: */confused /laugh*

    Champ: "KILL!" *Runs off*

--- Ya had to be there... it was odd, but funny.

Well I guess the funniest thing I have seen so far could also be the saddest.  I logged in yesterday and tried several times unsuccessfully to get into a group.  I saw 5 player characters.  So I guess that is both funny and sad.  What was the slogan for LOTR?  One game for all or something like that.
  • sololocosololoco Member Posts: 542

    The most funniest thing?

The game itself?  Come to think of it, no game is funnier then Vanguard. Now that's funny but in a terrible kind of way.

What server, what time frame ? I'm on Melendor and have very little trouble finding groups ? Do you use the /LFF channel ? Or maybe you are in the noobie start zone ? The game is pretty packed when I played tonite, with groups running into each other doing the "Our Greatest Find" quest . It was a lot of fun . I'm lvl 25 hunter

I am a lvl 4 loremaster and all I have done is do solo quests.  I did the looking for group and I guess I am doing it wrong because I got no response.  Also the few quests I have been on so far are boring.  I hope once I get into higher levels it gets more exciting.  But for right now it seems I am wasting my money.  I am also playing Vanguard and DDO and having the same issues there.  No one wants to group.  Oh well, keep trying I guess or do not renew my subscription.

I'll give you the standard canned response, MMORPGs cannot be judged by their first 4 levels. In fact, you aren't even out of the newb zone yet. I'm not talking about the low level zones, you are in a newb zone that's actually not even part of the 'real' world.

Also as far as funny, there's a house in Bree that is entirely full of cats. The apartment has well over 20 cats in it and nothing else, not sure what's going on in there.
