Congrats to Jagex from going from 100k subscribers and 1.2 million accounts (from the last time I checked on their growth) to 1 million subscribers and 9 million accounts.
Subscribers == those who pay $5
accounts == subscribers + free to play.
You deserve that recogniton. Now use that money to get better forums.

Very true. Nothing else needs to be added to something so insightful with the fewest amount of words possilbe. Even doubling their staff would go a long way to improving CS and more importantly updates.
Waiting for: Archeage, Darkfall 2.0, and Planetside 2.

updates? name a game that updates more then runescape? They give new quests (real quests not fetch things) every like 2 weeks. They only need more paid ingame moderators.Very true. Gameplay wise RuneScape is alot better than most MMOG. Graphic, music, controlling, etc. wise not.
I know a few games that have update patches every week. Off the top of my head, I know SWG has a lot of patch updates.
I started playing Runescape almost 7 years ago, before members, when there were only about 3000 people playing. Even though I don't play it anymore, I think it's a good starter game. They could be doing better, though.
If paul and andrew keep all there money locked up in the bank and are one of the richest people in England, it just proves they aren't spending that much in the game as much as we all did like em to.

I played it a lot when I was, uhm.. ten or something. It was good fun back then. Every now and then I try to go back and have the same fun I once did have. It's simply completely impossible.

What did I say wasn't factual? The title I used was a joke. It's purpose was to attract attention by parodying all the other "this game will kill WoW" threads, and to mock all those games people believed would come close to WoW's numbers, when in reality WoW's closest competition (aside from the stagnate lineage series) is a game that doesn't even have an official messageboard on this website for MMORPGs.
Aside from that nothing I mentioned was wrong. Their messageboard is atrocious and they've grown a lot since 2000. They deserve some respect regardless of our opinion's of their community, graphics, game mechanics or time sinks.

LOL. A game is a game regardless of the medium needed to play it. One of the greatest games I played throughout my childhood was a TNMT game that was sold in a handheld machine designed to only play that one game. The game itself had no world to speak of with graphics worse than a gameboy. You just had to fight off swarms of enemies from four directions, but it was more challenging and more fun than Kirby's Dreamland for the gameboy which I defeated in 4 hours. That TMNT turtle game lasted for almost 6 months.
Here's a great fps browser game with multiplayer hosting capabilities you should be able to enjoy. I don't know about firefox but it doesn't work on Opera so I have to use IE to play it.

Haha. Runescape is not close to WoW at all. I'm pretty sure you need to check your math.

With 1 million subs it is a lot closer to WoW than the supposed WoW-killers. BTW I made an edit that was in response to one of your posts thinking I would make the edit before you came back.

On the average day they sell 800 hamburgers. Wendy's also sell hamburgers. Their hamburgers are also 3 bucks. On the average day they sell around 600 hamburgers.
Just because the new restaurant sells more cheap hamburgers doesn't mean they are the next best burger joint after McDonald's. It just means they sell more cheap crap for less. Wendy's would be the next best restaurant because they sell the same quality food at the same price, but sell less.

Anyways, on topic instead. While I, myself, don't support Runescape in any way as I see it as a utterly crappy POS, I'm not the one to whine,
those guys make more money than me, and you, and hence, their product is worth the price.
Suck it up, they made a good deal even if you don't like it. And they did it better than you.

Five million bucks a month on the other hand isn't an opinion, that's a shitload of money.
