the game really does play a LOT better atm. but for some reason it cannot hold my interest above 20+

tried a couple of classes, psy, pala, bloodmage and sorc

but for a weird reason it all doesnt make sense.

i run around and do quests, all fine and dandy.. but its not delivering at all.

GL VG people. ill be back @ the relaunch. unless WAR hasnt taken me over by then.

For a game so mired in technical issues and out of game politics, it's often easy to forget that there's a possibility that it's simply not "fun". It's a concept needing consideration often lost in Vanguard's thick entry barrier.

I was actually very disappointed in Vanguard's launch for this reason.  There is a whole new generation of MMORPGs and Vanguard was going to be one of them that was supposed to help define the genre based on how well or how poorly it did.

But the horrid launch of the game did not permit any of the game mechanics a chance to be played effectively and now there will always be the shadow of it hovering over the game.   It's unfortunate that we will never get to see the game mechanic in Vanguard fairly voted upon by the most important method of all - people's pocketbooks.

At least this game will serve as a lesson to other developers who consider releasing products before they are ready.

i think it's just plain and simple not the game for some people

i ordered all new parts to build a newer system that could play it.....but got anxious and decided to just install it on my current crappy set up (pentium 4, 6800gt agp card, 1gb crappy ddr1 ram)....and i'm somehow able to ignore the 15-20 fps and actually find myself not able to close the game down

It's just realllly engulfing, which is exactly what i thought it would be like. Yeah the game runs pretty crappy on my crappy old system, but after 3 minutes into the game i don't even notice how it's running, i'm too "into" the game. It's kind of odd because i couldn't get into Eq2 at ALL because all i thought about was how horrible it ran AND looked.

Oh well, to each their own. I'm enjoying and i'm just on a 10 day trial - so far it's selling me.

I'm on a station pass, so not much point in canceling. I agree the performance has improved from when I last checked, but Sigil needs to work a lot harder/faster, or games like WAR and AoC will kill it, before it has a chance to become a "complete" game. I was pleasantly surprised with this latest visit and upped my overall score from 6.6 to 6.75 due to the changes.

Same reason why I quit the game, I'm just not having fun. The game feels a bit chattered, and I can't seem to get any feeling for the game.

    Cancelling again? Again?

Well, all I can say is you sure have a lot of guts coming back after cancelling the first time.  Most players who left haven't giving this game a second look including myself.

Checking the forums, yes, but that's it. I won't go any further because I believe although they say a few changes have taken place the game is still the same. I don't think it's really changed enough to go back, at least not yet anyway.

Maybe, it will never change enough for ex-players to see a real difference and return.  Most games are exactly the same way as this one. Not really good enough to retry and it may never be.  If you go by gaming history, games don't change for the better. On the contrary they get worse.  For example:SWG.
