If they are indeed trying to revolutionise the mmo gaming market again, perhaps they will be working to build an mmorts, style game before titles such as Huxley, tabula rasa etc, will come out.. then Blizzard will dominate both rpg and rts.. I am just guesing here..
however i am interested to see what is revealed in the coming weeks.

Making so much noise you dont know when to listen.

I would think RTS, though I could be wrong

Just don't be surprised if they suddenly mindscrew us all and revive the Ghost Project. If they did, I would probably break all my Blizzard games in half
thay arnt gonna release anything right now, only announcing games thay are gonna/(have started to) make, imo it'll be atleast 1-3years b4 thay release anything

Though I couldn't stand WoW, I do respect Blizzard for their ability to deliver a pretty solid game. They were good for the MMO industry despite what many WoW detractors claim.

I'd certainly love to see them develop a Sci-Fi MMO -- EVE could us the competition.

Yeah, if Blizzard releases a sci-fi MMO that's a success then many will follow.  Maybe then companies will think about something other than medievel fantasy.

i'm sorry to say Blizzard is hooked on the money flow from MMOs now, so if you want RTS play Supreme Commander

I just hope they will make an extremely awesome MMOFPS out of starcraft, a real fps with no stupid third person view etc.

I've already started dreaming about this, imagine entering some random place with you and your marine friends when zerglings come crawling down the walls and roof. Everyone uses stimpack (buff) and starts going at it

Dream wold be all races as playable, like alien vs predetaror style. climbing the walls and roof would be posible as a zergling while zealots act as some kind of tanks, all factions against eachother ofcourse. When you get alot more money or somehow you can enter a wraith and fight with some musalisk players in air combat:).

All just dreams until we even know what they are about to announce 19th of may:)

*edit* They dropped Starcraft ghost, but im guessing some rework on that game will turn into a MMOFPS

My hope is that they just don't get the 2nd MMO funk. A lot of companies that had a decent showing for their first MMO had a really bad 2nd one. (AC2 comes to mind)

Blizzard has the capital and the IP to come up with another really good MMO if their heads don't get to big. Blizzard itself is an extremely profitable company and after WOW they have shown that they can make a polished MMO that people want to play. They have all the right tools to make either a really great MMO or a really terrible one; only time will tell.

As for a Star craft MMO; I would play it and I was not a WoW fan. Blizzard has a few things to work on to make the game great IMHO; Secondary market sucks for honest players and for the company alike. I would like to see that go away as much as possible. I’m not much for PK in any of the newer games; I did like AC1’s take on it so I will not comment on that because I haven’t PK’d in about 4 years. I would also like to see a TRUE RP server; maybe something that you have to apply for to get in. Meatheads running around spamming l33t speak and LOL at teh $tupit  RPs is no fun for the people that actually enjoy that. I would like to see one server like that for the RP crowd.

Anyways that’s just my take on it. I would like to see the Star Craft MMO myself and it has such a huge cult following that it makes sense.

I wouldn't start making plans to play Worlds of Starcraft just yet. First off, Blizzard has to realize that a good bulk of there target audience for such a game is already paying to play wow. Second, even if they do announce that they are developing such a title, which the eventualy will most likely, it will still be several years in development. Maybe in another year or two when WoW subs begin the inevitable dribbling, we'll start to count down the days, but for now those of us desperate for a sci-fi mmo might as well go  outside and find girlfriends.

     /shudders.

It doesn't matter if they have 8 milion people playing WoW, if they make a MMOFPS starcraft they will attract a totally different crowd.

And if those of us who are desperate for a Sci-fi game have girlfriends there will still be x2 amount of customers for every year that goes.. It's not like any gaming market will become smaller, especially not the MMO market..

The logical move if SCO is true would be to go MMOFPS as that seems to be the next evolution of MMOs, plus with 40k being heavily rumored to also be an MMOFPS it's almost certainly a good reason to do so.

But one question how the heck would we play Zerg? they're no exactally humaniod are they..

    Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!
