swimming is not Star Warsy... er... Piratey and iconic. hehe

this is a non-issue IMO.  i'd much rather have fishing in the game.

It's good to see you know what you're looking for in an online game: a swimming simulator.  I'm sure there are many swimming sims out there that will meet your needs.  LotRO has pretty nice swimming, actually.  Maybe that's the game for you.

And I know it was just a typo, but '...you cant bored other peoples ships ...' pretty much sums up my feelings on that issue.

Well I'm all for dolphin mounts . I do think the not swimming thing does add a touch of realism to the game though.

Dunno why you guys are taking chase's opinions seriously, the majority of his posts are rants about how MMORPG's have subliminal images of the light-bearer in them.

I dont know about all of them not being able to swim.  Im sure a few knew how and a few dopes never learned.  Especially as pirates, I doubt they gave swimming lessons to the crew.  Being prior navy I know from experience that there is an ass load of people who are stationed onboard ships that still have the worst swimming skills ever.

People would cheat in boot camp to get past the swimming tests.  I knew quite a few sailors who sink like rocks if the fall in the water.  When we would have swim call at sea you would always know who couldn't swim cause they would hide inside the berthings.

So true. I've been in the navy for 11 years and I can't swim one lil bit. I guess i could dog peddle if i had to, but i'd most likly just die if i fell over board if no one saw me fall.  I didn't see people cheating though, all you had to do was float and doggy peddle.  I never hid at swim call, I  hug out near  the water and NEVER went in.

a few guys who failed the swim test had to re-take. so instead of them going they had a friend from the divison go in their place to take it that was a good swimmer.  He would just have to know his full name and social incase they asked.
