As much as it hurt to do it, I bought it, and am very glad. It's just the TV shows that are gay and kiddy; the game is actually one of the (if not the) most complex RPG I've ever played. The last pokemon game I played was the original red version, and suffice to say this game is VERY much more advanced. There's 493 pokemon, a dozen different types and subtypes, hundreds of attacks, and I only get to choose six... Plus there's a lot of numbers and other underlying things that they just don't tell you about in the game that you have to learn outside the game that makes it very much a hardcore game. It's the only game I'd ever think of buying a strategy guide for.

Definitely a great purchase. I needed something more for my DS, and this doesn't disappoint. With online battling, I should be set for a long time. I've already clocked in about 30 minutes, and I'm only level 35.

I'm actually thinking of buying a DS just for this game. I really wish they would make a pokemon mmo(official one)!

What would you choose? A Diamond or a Pearl (both equal size). The simple answer is ofc a... Diamond. Diamonds are shiny, nearly better than cookies. Buy Diamond!

I'd say go with Pearl, just because it seems like so many people have Diamond (myself included). Get Pearl, and your pokemon exclusives will be in demand.

I really can't believe that these games are still so massively popular.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

  • Isn't anyone frightened by this game, I mean...you go out, capture an animal, train it, and use it to fight against other animals.

Its cock-fighting!!!!!! Do they fight pokemon in the basement of a run-down bar, where you can make bets on the winner through a one-eyed bookie named Vinnie?

Season 1 and 2 of Pokemon back in the day was awsome, then it started suckin. Team Rocket always losing, everyone loving and feeling up their pokemon, Ash not acomplishing squat, Brock got no booty, blah blah. It got old quick, but it may be entertaining to the new/next generation of pokemon manics. I'm a first generation. I plan on buying a DS soon for the game.

the old series was good but these new ones are so gay! but seriously the game is really quite good if you think of it as catch train battle then it won't be fun but if you take other aspects into it it really is quite good. i recently found out about effort and individual values which improve your pokemons stats more when you lvl them up. theres alot more to the games than mets the eye.
