Is it worth it to upgrade your equipment in the early lvls? (armor weps ect...) I seem to be getting some decent quest items and saving up my coin. I'm about to lvl 9 now.
Sorry for all the posts.
I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.

Right on! thanks.
Coin seems to come pretty quick if you kill everything and sell it. Are the purple crafting supplies worth putting on the AH?

Save your money during early levels because you will need every piece silver that you have in buying your class skills/spells. Don't buy equipment until you hit your mid 20s because you will be changing equipment fast and the quest reward equipments are actually good and will carry you on. Once you hit mid 20s the levels get longer and quests get tougher to do (you get more and more fellowship quests) and that's when you will want to buy equipment to keep yourself upgraded. Also you might wanna start saving for your mount which you can use at lvl 35. They cost 4 gold and 200 silvers (translations: 4200 silvers because 1 gold = 1000 silvers). To make money sell everything that mob drops, sell mob equipment other player or to the NPCs (you generally can sell them for better price to other players coz NPCs will only pay like 1/6th the worth of an item). Then there is the issue of repairs. Don't die too often because equipment repairs are seriously significant (at level 20's you will be paying 15-20s per death at level 40 you pay like 200 silvers for repair per death). Sometimes the npc will offer quest rewards that you will never be able to use (depending on your class) just choose the one that has the most monetary value and sell them to npcs.
Crafting in LOTRO is a huge money sink until the high levels when you can make great stuff that actually makes you tons of $$$. Right now farming is kinda broken because nobody wants to buy player farmed vegetables used by cooks to make food because you can buy the ingredients off npcs for cheaper prices. Turbine planned to fix that in future patch.
