I'm afraid you will require at least 1 GB RAM and about 3 Ghz CPU and a better 3D card to play decently. LOTRO game client requires a little bit more processing power than WoW.

How much of a system hog is LOTRO? Say if you want to run it at Max settings, what would you need?

Ive played on a 2.8cpu 512mb 128vid without any problems, If your graphics card shares your ram memory you will have some problems. Played with all on medium settings and didnt have hardly any problems. Another 512mb laptop memory is pretty cheap atm as an upgrade option.

i started playing it on medium settings with the following spec:

    AMD Turion 64 2.0Ghz

    768mb RAM

    256  Graphics card

The graphics card was shared memory so my installed ram was actually 1 gb but after the GFX card had taken its share it was down to 768,  i have 2gb of ram now and it runs even smoother if im adventuring on my own i can turn the settings up even higher but for group activities and busy areas i play on medium.
