Reinbursements?

EaldormanEaldorman Member Posts: 67
in Hattrick.org you get extra gametime each month because of unexpected events and server being down, not much but a few hours a month.

in livehockey.se they have the same reinbursements, if something goes wrong that is unforseen or not your fault, you get reinbursed.

in wow, when the server goes down unexpectedly you get....nothing.

The worst happened to me a few weeks ago, i was wrongfully banned (the GM mistook my name for the person i reported) and banned me for a number of hours and i also got a warning put on my account.

when this was cleared up  (a WEEK later) the reinbursment for the bann and the warning was a letter stating that they were sorry ..... and that was it.

no gametime awarded for the mistake they made, nothing.

I didnt even get the hours i was banned for back.

Wow is the superior game out there, but im not sure i want to be a part of it anymore.

care to know why?  you dont matter, plus you were banned for a few hours you cant even give someone that small of an amount of money. One of the biggest mmos out there doesnt give a shit if you get banned forever let alone a few hours. If you feel that wronged i will personally give you the 2-5 cents they owe you.

To my knowledge no company would give you anything of a foul up like that, if it was only a week. If it was a month they would give you a free month. Yes it does suck that you were mestakenly banned because of poor reading skills of the GMs but to be honest, don't expect anything. I know people that were falsely accused of doing something, and it wasn't true, they were temp banned for a week or two and they got nothing in return. No honor they could have made, gold, game-time, nothing.

If that really turns you away from WoW because of one event then so be it, but as I said don't expect anything from Blizzard / the GMs.

Welcome to the world of large scale triple A titled MMOs,   I dont know what those other sites are you listed that give you reimbersusements but wow and large company games like it never offer hourly /gametime repayments for mistakes made infact its in the EULA to most that they won't if things happen.   You're charged under 20 us dollars a MONTH not by the hour.

So how do they calculate money / game time wise what they owe you?  The average player could spend up to 50 housr a week playing while some might spend only 20.   To be honest if those other sights offer all those reimbursments it makes me wonder if they're really just that unreliable.

At most if its a HUGE down time for the entire game sometimes they will give you free xp bonus for 48 hours or something similiar.   If your going to cry over a week then well ... *shrug* maybe big company games aren't for you no offense.   Crap happens when it comes to banning players but if they make  exception for you and give you xp bonus for the banning then everyone else will freak out the min that sort of treatment goes on the whole community would go into an uproar.

Ok... So I've never really played much WoW, but your post made me angry enough to reply to it.  The minute you started paying to play WoW, it became a right.  As long as you live within that EULA, it is your right to play that game.  You still won't receive anything because they are a very large company and if they lose one customer... so what?  I personally think that that is a poor business model, but in the short term it requires a lot less work on their part.  The minute that everyone starts believing that it is only their "privilage" to play a game, that they are paying for, is the minute that that company can treat its paying customers like trash and do whatever they want.

Look i can forgive the larger MMO companies for making mistakes, atleast it was only one week and not a whole month. Take this into consideration, there are way to many players to keep complete track of them all. Atleast they actually reacted to your complaint about somone, unfortunately instead of banning the person in the wrong they banned you, its unfortunate but there are also positive sides to this with reaction of them to one of your calls. So accept their apology and get back to gaming and have some fun.

Don't get on their bad side. They actually called the police to my house and accused me of having a dead corpse.

I'd agree - the OP should have been given extra game time. If this was difficult for Blizzard to do then it is due to company policy rather than any technical reason. It's pretty easy to add a week to the "next payment due" field in a database.

WoW customer service is rubbish. At one time or another it has offended a significant portion of their customers.  In the past this hasn't mattered. The competition wasn't good enough, with many rival games having significant weaknesses of their own. People just gritted their teeth and kept playing. However players have long memories, and once a corporatations image is tarnished, it's very hard to fix it. As more high quality games come onto the market (LotRO now, others coming soon), Blizzards lack of concern for it's customers will cost it dearly.

I don't get it... if you are unhappy with their policies, don't play it. Quit and find a game with rules that are more to your liking.

Its their game, they have a right to run it any way they see fit, (read the Eula carefully, everything is slanted in their favor), and they only way you can vote is with your wallet.

Forget whether it is right or wrong... save those concepts for Sunday school.....this is a business here.... and they'll run it anyway they want to.

Actually.. Blizzard was one of the first companies to give reimbursment for Server downtime. I have 2 extra Day credit this month alone.. for something i don't even remember what that did not affect me in the least, but I still get the credit.

As for the bad banning, that is not very good, but really? you want what? 3 hours credit? pleasssssse.
