Would sound like an EQ clone then and I'm playing it because it's not an EQ clone.
@Topicstarter I even know what u mean i played that games for 2 weeks after this i got the feeling i have seen everytjing so i quit my acc there and started an other MMORPG.
i think game is great and is gettin better no one is a gimp and i dotn have to listen to i am oober/uber allthe time or i am l33t character this game is great and i agree crafting is an irritant in my book so lets se how this game develops. And if ya dont like it you can leave. evercrap will allways be there for ya babies.
Originally posted by Alient I haven't checked around to see what they will do with Taunt and Provoke. I am afraid it will be totally useless in PvP unless it prevents people from targeting if they have been provoked. Aggro in most games usually just affects NPCs. It needs to work with normal players too or otherwise the tankers will be completely useless in group PvP in CoH.
How about if provoke/taunt if it hits, automatically changes their target to you? That could be effective. Joe shmoe opposite you is picking on the blaster but his target keeps switching to you without his knowledge. Just a thought. *shrug*
this game has only been out about 2months or so dont nail me on exactly how long its been out but it is a good solid game which in my opinion gets better daily. for those in PVP only mode check out Dark Astoria and tell me it doesnt have possibilities.
Those that don't like that game usually expect something else, occasionally they simply expect more.
1) A lot of people equate MMORPGs with crafting, loot, uberness, and other subtleties that are consistent in EQ clones. CoH doesn't have a lot of these, so, even though it's fun, a lot of players are too keyed into focusing on the level grind or on a timesink distraction from the levle grind. CoH, then, instantly sucks, because you ignore the postives and focus on the negatives.
2) A lot of people demand a high level of content, anything else is boring or of low quality. While one may exhaust content, that doesn't make the game boring, it just means that you, basically, finished it... this can be done with any MMO during it's first two months in relatively little time.
For PvP lovers, what can I say? It's coming, and it'll be awesome... but if you just must have PvP, nearly every other MMO coming out has it... there's no reason to be mad at CoH for being different... which, honestly, we should expect by now.
As for the additions to the game... there will soon be a non-combat system to distract some of you from the "level grind," (a concept which I, clearly, just don't get)... by next summer there will be PvP with some form of device making, though, I assure you, it will not be EQ-clone crafting... CoH, as far as anyone can tell, will keep getting better, deeper, bigger and cooler.
I, personally, don't understand why those that don't like the game don't like it...

I respect Misti's opinion.
We have the same taste in mmorpgs and she constantly verbalizes exactly what I was thinking.
There are about 5 or 6 other people on these boards who I look to for opinions simply because they seem to like what I like in games as well.
