How are the servers planned?

This may or may not have been announced and im just wondering how are the servers going to be planned? ie lots and lots of servers like WoW or for a dramatic contrast  eve style, i know it will depend on the amount of people in the end its just that im Scottish and have quite alot of online friends in america and just wondering how the servers are planned if known yet.

There will be seperate servers. Hopefully not seperated by region (and probably not)... how many there are all depends on population of course.

I heard they were going for about 4000 players active on each server max therabouts.

Whether this is all true or not... I am not a dev, so salt is required.

cheers for the info hopefully not regional, only prob i see is if it is 4k on server, they need to sort out the 25v25 as theres gonna be alot of unhappy ppl not gettin in.

I think I saw they plan on having 12 contested ports at one time, so that 25v25 turns into 300v300. Take into account other things as well, such as active players vs players online at a time, players who pve, and the traders who will probably be about 1/4 of that 4000.
