So Gamestop reviewed the game and gave it a 8.3 with nothing lower then an 8 in any category.

I have a Youtube channel for video games! http://www.youtube.com/user/Vendayn
but lets see, im curious about what they doing with end game.
Yeah definetly a good score for this game. If you look at what they actually scored in, the publisher threw a nice curve to the score.
Goodjob Turbine! Hopefully things can only get alot better.

I'm not sure I agree with the models being bland, though I do wish there were more customization options. I have most of my settings maxed out and the models look pretty good imo... definitely better than those "other" games. Now, some of the gear and armor could be a little more varied, but even then, at high to ultra high, the textures are very crisp and detailed.
I generally like LotRO, however my beef with it is the fact that it is just a reskinned WoW. I played the beta, had a level 50, and pretty much I got to play WoW all over again.
I just wish the put more things in like the Music System (I think the was the best idea they came up with). I think overall they would have faired better if they tried to really remove themselves for the WoW gameplay. I also wish they put more focus on general PvP, not MPvP. I don't like the MPvP system, but I like the basic concepts behind it. Bottomline though as a roleplayer, I cannot take the character that I am leveling and PvP with him. That is pretty sad.
Overall, I think GI is WAY off the mark. It deserves at least a 9.0. The game does a great job of cloning WoW, and WoW is an entertaining game. In addition to that Turbine added a lot of great things (some of which WoW is trying to steal in their latest patch) and they have some original ideas (the music system and MPvP as well as their approach to pets and the Hunter class's PIP system). So, there is a lot of great things this game is doing and 8.3 is not even close to appropriate for this game. But I don't think it is good enough to stand toe-to-toe with WoW.
I'd give it a 9.0 maybe a 9.1.

Back to the original post. A good review, not too high in the sky, not too low.
I miss DAoC
With the reviews that they gave VG and WOW, I don't think that anyone can say that this review is any more accurate.
And I rated it at 7.9 (I gave VG a 6.5).
What is in the game is good - but there is far too much missing, even simple common things like no way to tell what in-game time is, and the quests are getting pretty repetitive.
And how many times can you change the name of a pig to make a "new" mob? (angry pigs, rabid pigs, maddened pigs.. yup, 19 varieties of various upset pigs...).
