List of the pet classes?

JammaslamJammaslam Member Posts: 265

Tried the 14 day trial a while back (over a year ago maybe 2) and  have been thinking about getting the Epic Edition seeing as how cheap it now is (9.97 on amazon) and have always enjoyed pet classes. Generally because they tend to be overpowered and make soloing and gaining xp easy ( Im going to be as straightforward as possible).

I would also like to eventually get into the RvR/PvP in the later levels.  But was wondering what the pet classes available are, which make the best  (quickest to take down monsters, able to take on harder stuff, least downtime etc) PVE soloers and which are remain good later on and in the PvP or RvR side of things?

I am going to include classes that use charm as well as summon (BTW if you think pet classes are OP in PvE they really are in RvR.)

Minstral, Necromancer, Theurgist (pet spam), Cabalist

Mentalist, Enchanter, Animist (not much of a pet spam class anymore), Druid

    Bondancers, Hunter, Spiritmaster,

Druid and Hunters are not going the be pet classes you ar talking about.  Charmig classes are onyl good if you find something to charm, so maybe mentalist or minstral.  I think you would be happiest with the traditional pet class so either Enchanter, Cabalist, or Spiritmaster.  Spiritmaster has both charm and summon I believe.  All 3 of these classes has the PbAoE you want.  You use your pet to pull and hold a bunch of argo from multiple targets and you then show up and nuke everyone in a small around abound the pet and they die pretty quickly.  I would have said animist because once you get used to playing one they are awsome, but they have been nerfed to the point where they really aren't worth playing.  They lost 66% of the damage output:(

Wow, how was the Sorcerer not mentioned?!!? lol

Sorc is a very good pet class.  Depending on how much Mind you spec in, you can charm a pet that equals your level.  The sorc also gets a baseline lifetap spell that returns 60% dmg back to your hp.  Also, the Sorc has a spell known to DAoC players as "crack" which basically allows you to regain power back faster than normal, so there is little downtime when it comes to playing a Sorcerer.

And for RvR, the Sorc has the longest range AoE Mezz spell in the game, so this makes them extremely well in RvR for interupting casters.  The Sorcerer is probably the most well rounded class in the game.

    Easy mode caster ...

The best pet class its theurgist

The only thing easy mode about the Sorc is if you get MoC3, but I hate MoC3.  It uses up too many points that can be put towards dmg RAs :P

I hear people complain more about Theurgs being more easymode than Sorcs because of how many pets a Theurg can send on one person.  People whine about how it's unfair that the Animist got a pet # nerf, and they say the Theurg should get it too.  I would agree with them only if the Theurgs pets changed targets after killing someone :P

Sorc isn't easy mode, if you play as a sorc in rvr you should know that hitting those mezzes and debuffs etc. isn't the easiest thing to do
