Crafting?

I've been trying to catch up on my Warhammer info and haven't read anything about crafting, does it exist in-game? etc.

it will be in there im sure, they will make sure everything else in the game is good before they start the crafting part of the game tho

They've not said yes and they've not said no. But they have stressed that you can't progress through the game by just sitting around and crafting its main focus is on fighting. What this means for crafters? I have no clue but they did say once if they do crafting the items wouldn't be useless garbage. *it was in an interviwe ages ago somewhere on this site and it was a brief like two sentences remark*

There will be crafting but it wont be very creative and the best gear will be obtained from PvP

However not alot of info was released so no one really nows.

But i'm pretty shure that wont be one of the main features

most of the warhammer books revolve pretty heavily around crafting, like liber chaotica spends more then 20 pages describing the weapons ppl craft

Yea well you know some people are at work crusing around on break when they post so there's no need to yell jackass. BTW RVR isn't considered straight up PvP since you have to actually WORK together and not run around wow style with your heads cut off like chickens.

(Yes i know RvR envolves PvE)

Gw doesnt have that much teamwork in it, pretty much jsut the monks healign seed everyone over and over

GW isnt WoW you know i havnt played GW since after the first 4 months it released, i started like 3 weeks after it came out and joined my friends guild and it was in the top 100 ranking, fights would last over30 or 45 minutes just cus monks could healing seed over and over and no 1 would die.

they may have changed it now but it is still only 8v8 or 4v4, never like DAOC or what war will be with anywehre from 1v1 to 300v300

In truth, I agree with everything you guys have said in this thred so far. FYI, I'm working on the crafting system right now and I can tell you this much, if we can pull off what I have in mind you'll be very, very happy. This is one the game system's that I'm aiming for "revolutionary " and not just evolutionary. While I normally prefer evolutionary systems (less risk) there are some systems that I really want to do something quite unique with and this is one of them. Most games, at best, are evolutionary, some are evolutionary with some revolutionary features and some, very, very few are truly revolutionary (though many devs love to boast about it for all their games in order to build hype). If we can create a fun game that is evolutionary with a number of revolutionary features, I'll be very happy.

Will crafting make it into WAR? It's uncertain at this time. If it does however, Mark Jacobs said he won't just do a rehash of any existing crafting setup in any other MMO. He wants it to be a revolutionary system that will forever change crafting in MMOs as they exist right now. I am really rooting for them to pull this off. It's about time crafting was shaken up in MMOs. It's gotten stale lately. Of all the crafting systems I've taken part in, to me DAoC had the best system. And it was fully usable in the end game, and not just only one part of it.

I hope the resource gathering system, the crafting, and the quality dynamic is very complex... I am sick of 10 ore = axe... If the game has poor crafting thats gonna be a huge hit for a "next gen" game.

Um, no RvR is both PvP and PvE. It's helping your realm get realm points to capture the zones and all that. You can do quests and still contribute. This game will be PvP based but PvE exists. And anyway, the game won't be gear based, it'll be skill based. They said city raids should get you some of the best gear, though.

On the topic of crafting, mythic has said that they're working on a nice crafting system, but they have it under raps. They're being very secretive about it, so that could possibly mean that it may be interesting, no?

And I consider large font and orange letters yelling, as well.
