Well, the short answer is "yes".

The "real" answer is "I don't know".

This game is very much for casual players. In addition, it is not really about light show pyrotechnics or flamboyant presentation.

If you want to play a Nuker you are pretty much out of luck because there are no "nukers" per se (the Hunter [archer] is the nuker type class) in this game.

This game makes the attempt to stay as close to the books as possible.

However, it is hard to answer your question because you say nothing about yourself. Do you like grind games? LOTRO gives you more xp by questing as opposed to grinding.

Do you prefer open ffa pvp? Not in this game. Do you want to be a mage and blast things with fireballs and summon demons? not in this game.

If you are a Lord of the Rings fan and want a casual, lore based, game then this game could be for you.

Want more answers i suggest you give some more info where you from as in what game genre do you usely like/play (rpg, fps, advent. ect?, but overall if its your first mmo it would be a good choice. Get a hold of a buddy key and try it yourself, its quite good for a new experiance. Meself only been in beta, enjoyed it but looked for something else in a mmo as this wasn't my first . I'm enjoying Vanguard but would not recommand it as your first mmo, you might try it aswell if you can get a hold of a key, but honost get with LotrO first see whats that like and probelby you will enjoy it. But do give it time especialy if you new to the game. thats all i can say

Think WOW with a LOTR skin and lore.

That pretty much sums the gameplay up in a nutshell.

I just bought the game and I am having a lot of fun. It definitively worth the try.

its true its pretty much like wow, but classes are much more fun to play.  So, if u like simple and fun games this is a nice alternative atm.

I personally preffer games deeper of contents like EQ2, but this game is fun as a second game to play and have fun between EQ2 raids.

no i dont think that. in wow i could level to 70 just on mobs alone. hate quests after the newb zones in mmos. done one, done em all and it gets old fast. much better to focus on the mobs and get mats for the crafters while im at it.

Once you hit around level 20ish, the game develops its own type of play style. Its more of a casual game. Quests are more unique compared to WoWs simplied quest system with coords. And the LoTRO story carries you through the game, not like other mmo's.

If you are familiar with Asherons Call 2 you will see alot of similarites when it comes to the UI. Alot of people like comparing it to WoW since WoW was probably there 1st mmo they have played. Yes its similiar to WoW in some ways as well, but the crafting system is different, graphics are more superior, instances are movie like driven, music/sound put alot of other mmo's to shame and the combat system is more like EQ2, SWG, AC2 etc. WoW combat system is more simplied as well.

However your enjoying the game, its good to know people like LoTRO know matter how they look at it.

Without further information is hard to give you an answer. What do you look for in an MMO? What other MMOs have you played that you liked? Do you enjoy PvE or PvP? Do you like to fool around or are you a definite power gamer?
