Your reply was directed towards me, because it shows the reply under my post. Anyways im out of here this discussion is getting heated and honestly I rather have more positive conversations bye all and goodluck.
Grats on having NO clue how these forums function...i'm replying to you, this post will go below my last post...you sir...just got owned.
How did I get owned when you got the posts mixed up in the first place? This makes no sense at all you have serious issues dude if you really think your cool behind a keyboard making stupid links like that. I really feel sorry for you.
I know the difference between liberal and conservative, and I know the difference between comtemporary and classical liberalism...you are extremely liberal in the sense of how the word is used today. Don't try to sugar coat it, don't try to over analyze it and make it something that it's not...if you're going to believe in something, don't act like you're ashamed of it. I am libertarian in the sense that I think that the governement needs to F* off when it comes to the lives of other people. Which is why I don't support a gay marriage ban, because I think that it comes down to human decisions.
While I believe very differently than you in what is right and wrong, and don't believe that morality is relative, I don't believe that it's the government's right to enforce what I consider righteous morality on you.
That's a libertarian AND liberal view.
Liberals favor a market system in which government regulates the economy. They want government to protect us against big businesses. They want government regulation to level the playing field. They want to put more money into public schools as opposed to giving vouchers and letting us choose the school. They are human-caused global warming believers and Al Gore supporters. they are against gun rights, I actually support the NRA. Liberals support universal government health care, and so they want to pay for everyone, I want it to be privatized. Liberals are very easy on illegal immigrants. Liberals are supportive of the social security system (even if there is some trouble going on). Liberals support higher taxes, and welfare.
TO sum it up: Liberals support big government, high taxes, and big spending.
Everything liberals support up there is something I disagree with and side with Conservatives and they are very core beliefs that one must have to be liberal. 99.9% of libertarians hate Bush and the war, so you can't take those issues and immediately label me a liberal.

Bah I hate these Political Threads. Everyone ends up getting pissed off at each other.
The bottom line is all the media is biased. It just isn't one news media.
I choose FOX because I find them to be more honest than the rest of the media. It's my decision. I like Sean Hannity because he's an honest guy who cares for this country and the soldiers fighting for Iraq. I've actually spoken to him on numerous occasions. One of the nicest guys on this planet and I respect every damn word he has to say. Do I just believe everything that comes out of his mouth? No of course not...I do the research on my own as well and so far Sean Hannity has been dead on on so many topics. So many, that I wont get into it.
You hate Sean Hannity. That's fine. But I think he's a great American and one of the best Radio talkshow host we've got.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
I said I wasn't a LIBERAL. I said that I know they have agendas on liberal media...selective reading?? I wasn't attacking Enigma, I was attacking Sean Hannity.
Spin spin spin.
dude you can say your not a liberal all you want (shame?) but every post you make screams liberal. any post about animal rights, vegans, gay or lesbian, enviromental, anti war. you jump to defend. you my friend are a closet liberal. ( see the smley face? im being polite. just for you angelbound.
anti war - is conservative. Conservatives want less government, not policing the world. pro-war is neoconservative. I don't support neocons and that's what the bush administration is...look it up.
vegan - has nothing to do with politics...derrrr.
Environment - I think global warming has a big socialist/liberal agenda behind it and I don't like Al Gore. But like a good scientist, the science is still up for debate. I don't know how that is liberal.
gay - libertarian belief. If liberals have the belief then so be it.
On issues of personal liberty, libertarians may sound like liberals. On economic issues, libertarians may sound like conservatives.
Actually, the reason libertarians sound like people of other positions is that many of those other positions sound like libertarians. For example, conservatives have a tendency to be libertarian on economic issues, and liberals have a tendency to be libertarian on issues of personal liberty.
In fact, almost everyone is libertarian on some issues. You might say libertarianism is the common denominator.
no kidding veganism has nothing to do with politics. im showing a mentality here. that you will defend the plight of any poor sap that comes down the pipe. which liberals tend to do.
I know the difference between liberal and conservative, and I know the difference between comtemporary and classical liberalism...you are extremely liberal in the sense of how the word is used today. People who want just the facts and to think for themselves?
For example Sean Hannity was talking to Mitt Romney recently and Sean near the end begins wrapping up and congrats Mitt for placing number 1 (presidential candidate) in a specific poll. So I looked up the specific poll and it was kinda hard because it turned out that the poll was old and was pre-republican debate!! So there you have Sean twisting it and making it look like Mitt was was number 1 when in fact if you look at polls that are post-debate you can clearly see Ron Paul winning.
So tell me Alex, what news sources do you find to be unbiased? Better yet, which news sources do you use on a regular basis? Be honest now....
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
There aren't really many news sources that are unbiased. I simply hate it when people believe the "Fair and Balanced", "No Spin Zone", and all that crap, and I posted something from the owner of Fox that completely refuted his own news source.
All I want people to do is not mindlessly believe everything on Fox. Not only that but Fox also tends to ignore important things so always use the internet. Sean quickly changed the subject when a woman brought up the subject of Iraqi Parliament supporting a bill that demanded a timetable for U.S troops withdrawal.
Internet is generally a lot more truthful, because everybody has a voice. You can easily google something you read on Fox.com, CNN.com...ect and see if everybody else agrees or disagrees. Digg.com has news on it and a bunch of people talk about the news through the comment section for each story so you can see what other people think about it and if they have a different take on it. On TV they basically monopolize the news....that''s a problem.

The problem with the internet is that people can just say whatever the hell they want, and don't need to be responsible for what they say. You find a lot of BS on the internet that people pass off as fact. As far as the whole "fair and balance" schtick...that's just a stupid mantra, everyone knows that Fox has a conservative leaning, just like the other primary television news sources have liberal leanings. The only reason Fox gets lampooned like it does for its bias is because it has a bias that differs from the rest of the main stream media. So if you're going to lampoon for for claiming that it's "fair and balanced" should you not also call the other news stations on the carpet as well? Afterall, complaining that they aren't fair and balanced while ignoring that the other news sources aren't either isn't very...fair and balanced.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

You already said liberal TV exists and you don't think they lie and say whatever the hell they want and pass it off as fact? Of course they do...same with Fox.

By the way you can look at the polls in that link and you will see Bush's apporval ratings are pretty low, it just goes to show that even conservatives disprove of Bush....unless conservatives are a minority by that much.
So I can't see why one must be a liberal in order to disagree with Bush.

A study by the Program on International Policy Attitudes, in the Winter 03-04 issue of Political Science Quarterly, reported that viewers of the Fox Network local affiliates or Fox News were more likely than viewers of other news networks to hold three views which the authors labeled as misperceptions :
67% of Fox viewers believed that the "U.S. has found clear evidence in Iraq that Saddam Hussein was working closely with the al Qaeda terrorist organization" (Compared with 56% for CBS, 49% for NBC, 48% for CNN, 45% for ABC, 16% for NPR/PBS). However, the belief that "Iraq was directly involved in September 11" was held by 33% of CBS viewers and only 24% of Fox viewers, 23% for ABC, 22% for NBC, 21% for CNN and 10% for NPR/PBS
33% of Fox viewers believed that the "U.S. has found Iraqi weapons of mass destruction" "since the war ended". (Compared with 23% for CBS, 20% for both CNN and NBC, 19% for ABC and 11% for both NPR/PBS)
35% of Fox viewers believed that "the majority of people [in the world] favor the U.S. having gone to war" with Iraq. (Compared with 28% for CBS, 27% for ABC, 24% for CNN, 20% for NBC, 5% for NPR/PBS)
Yet somehow me, a humble internet user, knew they were wrong all along. Although I also blame Bush for pushing the 9/11 and Iraq and WMD link, but the news shouldn't be just going along with whatever Bush says. They should be asking tough questions and remaining skeptical.

Once again....who is conducting these studies? Do they have a bias of their own? After they investigated these issues did they go on to find if people who watch MSNBC have any misconceptions about various issues that Fox watchers don't have? Of course they didn't, because they wanted to find something to prove their point, and once they found it, they stopped looking, rather than find the WHOLE truth, they found the portion of it that suited their purpose.
I was well aware of those studies, I had to watch an hour and a half long video about fox's bias. What I saw was an hour's worth of misrepresentations and half truths...I find it funny that when looking at Fox's bias, people completely forget that they themselves are extremely biased as well.

I guess it's the same reason why when someone questions the "integrity" of either Fox News or the Bush Aministraction or anyone one else from the extreme right, those in the extreme right cry out "LIBERAL BIAS!!" To me that's not being unbias, that's called grasping for straws. And let's be honest. Considering just how bad the extreme right has buggered just about anything and everything they have touched since coming into power they deserve what ever lashing the press and the voters dish out them. Be accountable and suck it up.
