Hi!
I usually only play mmorpg where i can fight other people in it. I'm a very competative person so I enjoy figthing vs. other good people. I did try everquest 2 for a month and i did semi like it but I didnt see any purpose of leveling higher as I knew they were just going to keep adding more and more PvE content.
What the end game goal in LORT? Get to highest lvl then get your flashy armor then wait for next expansion or reroll. Or is there something you can actually DO when you are highest lvl?

There's Monster Play I guess ( which funny enough is abbrevated MP )
Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW...
It all sucked.
For the competative person in LOTRO there is monster play. You have to be lvl 40 with your playable character. That is a free peoples person to get into the monster play area, ettenmoors. When you reach lvl 10 you can go to a fell scrying pool and be able to roll a monster character. The monster character is lvl 50, with lvl 1 traits and abilities. You have to do quests in ettenmoors to gain destiny points to be able to buy the higher lvl traits and skills for your monster. You must also gain ranks thru killing freeps (free people) to get even more access to higher lvl traits and skills. In a way it is a skill base system for the monsters. You do not lvl him up from one to lvl cap but you have to lvl up your skills and traits. From what i hear it takes alot of work to do this.
Plust there will be raids added to the game as they expand it. Turbine has been rather tight lipped about endgame or as they put it eldar play. Not wanting to give away all of the secrets to soon. But they keep promising that there will be plenty to do. They have already announced the first free content expansion by next month. Wich will include a new raid instance along with 60 new quests and 9 new mobs i believe.
Anyway i can sit here an tell you all kinds of things the best thing to do is check the game out for yourself. Try to get a buddy key if you can. I will tell you this though it is worth it. But then i am not a competative gamer by nature.
You won't like this game. Most highly competive people will not like this game do to the fact your not in competition with other good people. You cooperate with others to get to the end.
That being said there is the spar option where you can fight another good character. Then there is MP where you can be the monster and fight good people or you can take your PC(at 40) and fight against the monsters.
Me personally am enjoying the game a lot, but I enjoy the journey not the end.

Listen to this fellow. He is right. If you are driven by PvP competition, you will not like this game, so don't buy it.
Lord of the Rings Online is not about reaching a end-game level 50 goal.
Lord of the Rings Online is all about the journey and the adventures you have along the way (in other words its about the journey not the destination).
