You know I have to admit when I played wow I was kind of addicted but my personality started changing a little so I quit, im not blaming that on wow though I think just being around that kind of community did it.

This is why I don't like to raid or get to attached to other people I meet online.  I find that the larger the time sink the worse it is.  If you get to know people then you feel a commitment to be on a lot and it's not good.  It's also good to realize it's just a game and it ends like a book.  Everything comes to an end eventually.

look at the craphole that kid lives in.  look at the broken door frame, that box he and his mother live in., look at his mother..  look at his crappy world.

I think WoW is the least of his worries.  I think his "mum" should be ashamed of herself going to the media to help solve a problem that she's unable to.

hell, shes probably a nightelf herself.  however, im sure she just cashed in big-time in the "attention market" by exploiting her son

haha excuse the pun but WOW is all I have to say, well that and wth who takes a game that sieriopusly good god. I am a adict of MMORPG's yes but I do get burnt out on them aswell and useually end up quitting and finding a new one or one i havent plaied in awhile. and ppl killing themselves because they think it will let them live in a game....who the hell are these morrons and why are they so foolish. Listen I can still discern fiction(ingame world) from reality and the moment that someone thinks that the game they play is based in anyway off of anykind of reality whatso ever is the point when mabie they need to be educated. holy crap ppl I hope that none of you would be foolish enuff to belive that when you die you become someones charictor. c'mon here are we gamers or total morons.

I'm a bit stunned and a slight bit outraged by that video the fact of hearing that ppl kill themselves over a game...thats like when this one kid killed himself because his charictor in some MMORPG died he left a note saying and i quote " My best friend has died ..i failed him I was to guide him and he is dead I must join him in heaven now so I can fufill my duty" ok ....excuse me for this but WHAT THE HOLY MOTHER OF ALL THAT IS SANE. lol

Stuff like this will make us gamers who enjoy our games and actually know the difference of things look bad just like anything if one person does it it makes all others become judged the same. anyhow ...wow..just holy crap wow thats retarted. just my opinion lol whats yours?

I resubscribed then quit after playing for about 3 hours.  LOL.  I thought I was going brain dead.

LOL, its very simple to lower his play time

    1) get him to find a job to pay for internet + game bills

    2) if he doesnt help pay for the bills cancel the internet + game

    3) get him to finish school work before he plays

    4) get a girlfriend and get owned in RL :p

i've been through what he has as well as many of us all...my oldest brother got me hooked onto UO and i would spend the weekend at his home playing with him 20+ hours...we slept for 1 hour ate for like 10 mins and played nonstop...however i did manage to get b's and c's in school, but the point is...

everyone knows for a teenager this shouldnt be the life they live...

just look at the video. its obvious neither he or his mother have a (decent) job. which explains the exploitation to begin with

What are you saying, some one without a decent job are more vulnerable to WoW exploitation? I thought it was some one without a brain, but the decent job is ... intriguing.

without a brain, a job.. you do the math

damn, suddenly I feel like im being prejudice towards people who make less than minimum wage

*edit* my point had to do more with his moms "attention whore" tendencies than WoW.  unsuccessful at life, look for success elsewhere

Nothing that the forum goers here don't know about but as usual it's a sad story likely brought about by poor parenting...

I'm more impressed that he can find enough content in WoW to play 16 hours a day!

Yeah when i was playing by liek the third week of it i was up to killign like 2 peopel at least in real life a week i just couldn't help myself you know and oh yeah i was an engineer and they make bombs so i made bomb and blew peoples houses up but you know i could quit anytime i wanted to but i didn't becuase i liked it ... then one daya  guildy stole my loot and i got made at him and so i killed him and then one day i ganked a peron liek 52 time ian  row and they were liek my husband will beat you up and so i was liek yeah right and so liek i hgave her my addresse and he came over and broke my legs with a  baseball bat ... let see what else happend oh yeah i am now dead becuase i was 28 and in south korea and  i was still playing wow (which may have been called starcraft) in an internet cafe for 49 hours stright and i died.

Hmm anyoen else want to add anythign really tho ... shut up . rofl no really , i  mean there are peopel who waste their lives away infront of the TV watchign sports and shit get super fat and have a heart attakc at 36 and die... i don't see people crying about  sports on the TV like they do about  games and the reason is simple adults don't really play as many games, so when kids and younger peopel do it s "bad" and "wrong" , yet their fat asses are glued to the couch because thats "ok".

Tho i do have to say games can be addicting, but not as much as books .. books do end but ther are always more books. I have read the entire wheel of time seires ina week. (if you can do this you can one READ SOOO very fast and 2 eat a bit and sleep a  few hours a day and then read the rest of the time).

In anycase this is just another stuiped situation created by poor parenting.

Well he just doesn't listen ... do you do anythign to uhh i don't know punish him , force him to do other things? Well i told him it wasn't good and my teeth are very bad (ok that last part was just in there because her teeth were very bad ... freaking gross.)

Oh and about the GF thing they are over rated becuase women are b*tches and guys are basterds ... SO true.

.. Why can i say basterd and thats cool but i don't feel B*tch is ok ??

  • AngelboundAngelbound Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 1,437
You know your right the mom could of taken matters into her own hands more, by making him pay the bills and etc. I dont know where is the dad? But its really not hard for her to do this for pitty sake be a parent.
  • AngelboundAngelbound Member, Newbie CommonPosts: 1,437

Well cox isnt evil because it isnt hardcore and does not encourage you to feel you have to play alot to get stuff done, now I know this sounds wierd but if you dont want to be addicted to mmorpgs all you need to do is shutoff your internet unplug it and turn off your cpu this will help, you dont always have to turn off the cpu thats just extra but atleast shutoff the internet.

It helps me and other people.
