What the heck is going on with the map?

I'm almost curious enough to re-sub for a month just to see what the hell is happening. Looks like the Axis did an end around maneuver.  Whatever happened, it looks a mess.

We managed to get a breakout through Breskens and landed a land division behind the front lines. What you see is the aftermath of that.

There's been some pretty crazy fights that have occurred because of what happened. I know I've been having fun anyways.

They cap some undefended towns from a Bridgade in the zeelands I believe. Allies are cutting them off from supply but attacking up the middle. No armies were routed when they took the backwater towns and dont dare put too many in the rear because they will find them cut off.

There are no crazy fights, only infantry playing CTF with no enemy around.  Quite borring.

Yes, we Allies have fought the axis back to the previous frontline positions now.

It looked like the axis would take the map a few days ago, but now, we are almost back in business.

The reasons the axis pushed us so far back, has to do with many reasons. And these reasons effected troop moral in a serious way for us Allies. But over the last few day the Allied High Command, has stepped up and proven to us that they are more serious then ever to fix these issues and that feeling is trickling down to the grunt lvl.

We are still in this fight Axis!!!

Just to add, the axis didn't give us nothing, not one inch of land, we fought our asses off for ever foot we took forward.

As to the Nerf guy posting that garbage, I guess you've missed the 100+ on both side battles as of late, or the air wars over the major cities. Ive seen the air filled with allied and axis planes in epic duels, allied planes attacking bombers on their way to our cities, that we have fully loaded defences  in. Ive dropped  with Allied paras with 5 troop carrying cargo planes  filled  with dozens of paras at once.

Ive been in a tank column that stretched for nearly 2000 meters to push on a town and support our infantry troops, with flyboy air cover that hardly left a dot in the sky blue over a city with out seeing a dog fight. And we push on the city, with planes flaming to the earth and bodies and husks of tanks covering our approach. Explosions, and tracer rounds whizzing past and my buddies blowing up next to me, and advancing troopers screaming as they died. Me shooting  advancing axis tanks and blowing to tops sky high, and the red explosion of blood at i shoot a 75mm tank round in the chest of axis troops that thought shooting my tank with a rifle is any match for the firepower that i can deploy.

I'm not sure what game our playing  but it ain't this one. The battles are epic. I know cause i play.

If you think for one sec that I'm some sort of fanboi, maybe you should look over my years of posting. I'm as jaded as they come, and as serious about gaming, as anyone that has been addicted since the Atari console was released.

Simple.........a friend who still has a sub posted this in a "private" forum:

Posted: Sun May 13, 2007 1:20 pm    Post subject: WW2OL update Reply with quote

things are imploding at a fast rate this week, AHC has virtually ceased to exsist beyound the odd forum signature.

    1. An axis squad went allied for map and it was the only thing holding the south, axis tags on both sides.

    2. Axis soft capped vliss and breskens then went nuts soft capping all behind the allied lines. Fogaban the Axis GM told the AHC they were not allowed to move a french unit north and the brits could not move into french breskins so the axis were given a free tictet to trash the map. Total balls up.

    3. Tons of alliied players quiting

    4. arenas are pretty empty, a big attack is 5 players in the south

    And then came this:

Well see if it happens now, i think CRS told the axis to lay off and let the allies cap 80% of the empty towns back. So they allies are all in a good mood now because they think they pulled off a comeback.

Game has gone down hill steadly for about a year now and so have the subs.  Id be suprised if 500 play this game.  There was once a time when there were fights all over the place..........now its a mere memory.  Not long before the doors close on this one.

Gloom and Doom LOL (goes like that since i started in June'06). I played both sides and equipment is fine. Numbers are in favor for Germans.

What's the solution then? What is the right thing to do to make the allied side attractive? It was beaten to death on official forums BTW.

Go to totally fantasy simulation and replace French with US Army?

So, you saying my squad controls 1/5th of the game? I find that hard to believe. What the allies really need to do, is stop flying around in their planes and actually gaurd their depots. Then, once they have done that, they should start capping them.

Everyone complains about how the allies are outnumbered, yet they never actually use anything that can cap anything. Just come out with their planes and swarm the place ... then they cry when they loose.

Ahh, that remind me of one of the other reasons I left, the side attitude.  It's pretty poisonous all around and doesn't help the game atmosphere.

All the 5 page rants on text about how CRS hates Axis and cheat by nerfing their tanks, just because when they drove a Tiger into the middle of town they got sapped, was one of the last straws (especially when Axis were rolling the map).

Ahh, not worth joining back just to see the map Cerion... just remember ;)

    Mr pillbox

plz go to the official game forum and ask if ther is any Allied squad with 100 members or a Brigade with 100 active (3 - 5 squads).

and 2nd. 10 Allied gamers can't hold a city fom a 100 members Axis squad but can hold a area in the air. it's like win or lose.

and why try to win if you can't.  the pilots just like to have fun and on the ground you see less and less Allied team players. the Axis player base is biger end of story.

it's the best game in business but  unequal numbers. and full of axis players like you who find that hard to believe

There are a lot of axis players who are realising (hopefully not to late) that this game does indeed, need two sides.

There are a lot of Allied players out there, but they are feeling a little down trodden and are easily upset when things don't go their way.

However as this campaign showed after the Breskens Fiasco, there is still heart in the Allies, what could have easily turned into a short campaign, was dragged out by the Allies (and some axis coming over to sandbag for the Tiger), but even after that their precious still couldn't finish off the Allies in double quick time like they once did.

    Life can be tapped

I actually have 2 seperate accounts. One I used to use on the Allied side. But, I stopped playing that side as no help is given, and no advice taken. So, wether or not the sides are unbalanced, I choose to play the axis simply because I am made more welcome there. So, you can also blame the Allied playerbase. I am not the only one who has come to this conclusion, and no amount of arguing can change the fact of how I was treated. Its happened, and I care not to go there again.

    EDIT :

From what I understand, there are a few Axis squads going Allied for the next campaign. So maybe that will change up the play a bit.

Thus the side bias attitude is created and perpetuated.  I've had the same experience going to the Axis side.

Both sides have their idiots, and those idiots don't want to be told all their beliefs about gameplay aren't true.  I've been called a spy by a guy wasting 3Hs by driving out of the AB and going head to head with the then new Stuarts.  He was spamming on chat how CRS nerfed the 3H and how lame it was that panhards were killing him head on.  Thank goodness of the stat page and I told him they were Stuarts actually and not to go head on as they have good guns.  That's when I was called a spy and told to F off.... from a guy who had griefed 3-4 3Hs while I had taken ETs out with my ATG and was constantly posting enemy sightings on chat while he was spamming whines.

While annoying and, even lowered my enjoyment of the game, didn't stop me from playing either side if it was short.   Maybe that was because I'd correct both sides and thus get flack from both so no diff to me. If you correct the one side and agree with the other (eg 'no, actually it is balanced because ...' VS 'so true, CRS totally nerfs our side blah blah') you are going to get treated differently.  Not saying that's what you had Pill, but god knows I've seen it with others.

But to be honest, text are terrible compaired to the time before MSPs... mostly whine/nerf crap now.    Good for the occasional laugh when you post multiple times there's some ETs doing cutoff from the FB to city, only to see multiple tanks continue on and get killed (with the "OMG, WTF killed me?" on chat), or see the tank tags infront of you disappear and no reports of potential enemy on chat.... gotten way more arcadish with the equivalent patience/attention span.

Well gonna give the free week a shot just for old times sake.  Make me feel things have changed.

    T.

PS. Ahh the sandbagging, that brings back memories.  So this is going to be a code Green map heh, funny how you get a few squads swapping teams when there's a free trial on. Hopefully too many won't think it's how it is all the time and sign up for a full year membership.
