will it follow the movie and exactly how do you think the game can be improved story wise?
It will not follow the movies at all. It is not based off of the movies. It is based off of the books. The movies are based off the books but you have the added flair of hollywood to the movies that you won't see in this game. To answer you honestly they can't improve on the story from the books. What they can do is let us experience the parts of middle earth that are mentioned in passing in the books. The parts tolkien didn't go into great detail about cause they didn't tie directly into the story of the books. They aren't trying to improve the story, they are trying to give us a realistic middle earth to explore in.
The storyline runs concurrently with the time Frodo leaves the Shire, making his way to Rivendell for the White Council and then to Mordor. Of course not everything in the game is about Frodo or the Fellowship of the Ring. It also follows the novels more closely instead of Peter Jackson's movie (so 'no' Aragorn will not look like Vigo Mortensen). And yes, all your favorite Tolkien characters big and small will make an appearance like Aragorn, Gandalf, Gimli, Tom Bombadil, Ragadast the Brown, Arwen, Tom's wife Goldberry, Angmar, Lord Elrond, Glorfindel, etc.

The most important part of reading is reading between the lines.
