MMORPG players in wheelchairs

Hi all,

I've been given the green light from the Administrator. We're kosher!

I posted about a month ago asking if there were any players in wheelchairs who would like to take part in my study.  I got a great response, but need a few more people!

I am at the University of Surrey in the UK (www.surrey.ac.uk) in the department of psychology. The study I'm working on is interested in the personal experiences of people who play MMRPGs from wheelchairs, particularly on the impact role playing in a socially-supporting, socially-constructed, access-all-abilities virtual environment has on offline life. The first part of the study involves a 30-minute interview over an IM of your choice where I'll ask about your personal experience in the game, what roles you play and whether disability has any relevance for you in MMRPGs. The second part, which will be posted up here in the coming weeks, is a questionnaire, again for players in wheelchairs. It'll be focused on demographics and, again, personal experience.  Your responses for all stages are in the strictest confidence and will remain anonymous at all times.

If you are in a wheelchair and play MMORPGs, or know someone who is, please get in touch at psm1ak@surrey.ac.uk and we can go from there.  This is the first study of its kind, and is rather exciting for all!

Thanks very much for reading and look forward to hearing from you.  if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
