www.fohguild.org/forums/mmorpg-general-discussion/28627-soe-own-vg-sigil-fires-employees-32.html#post732163Very very sad. However, it is not only some of the leaders who are responsible... It is also the "But... but I am having fun" makebelieve community with zero gaming taste who has given false support, assurance and adoration to devs on a broken product since early beta!
Yes, YOU also are responsible!

Why is the average player to blame? The company is responsible for the game, everything in it. It turned out that VSOH failed to deliver.
Bullshit!
Sigil is responsible, no one else!
Btw, read your post, then read your signature... Enough said!
Hrmm.. no completely sure who he was referring to, I had thought it was members of Sigil that had got hired on at SOE or something... /shrug.
Should read more.. didnt see first poster was saying that thought everyone was saying Nino was..
In particular I really liked what Nino wrote at the end.

"I promised not to be publically scornful, but I will say this: I hope those truly responsible for the deep rooted failings of the company lay in bed tonight and relive the events that transpired today in their heads, over and over. For not ONE of you is without your job come tomorrow morning"

That is so classy, I would have never given him this much respect before but this was over and above what anyone over at Sigil or SOE deserves.
What aboslutely kills me is whether SOE now owns Sigil/Vanguard makes little difference, for all intents and purposes the same people that were in management positions before are still in charge now, if only with an SOE branded leash. I hope, for the players of the game sake, that's enough to get them to acutally start doing something with this game.
Important Information regarding Posting and You
I do hope SOE learn all they need to from Brad and the management team, then just cut their contracts and promote a more professional, hard-working and even absent(!) team.
The OP has a very valid point. It is called "Vanbois"ism. Look, I was in beta 2 and I can assure that "Vanbois" are partially responsible. Any of us that would post anything at all negative about bugs in the game or made suggestions on improvements to the game were called "haters" and "trolls". It got so bad that Nick the Gnome would lock threads if there was anything remotely close to negative comments about the game. So ya, even back in beta 2 they didn't want to hear the truth and the "Vanbois" would ensure we were not heard.
A company can't make a great game if they follow their fanbois and ignore those beta testers that are truly trying to help the company with their game by pointing out it's faults as well as strengths. The industry has moved from wanting detailed reports from beta testers in all games to multiple-choice surveys with no forums or detailed feedback for a lot of companies. It is a shame.
To all you "Vanbois" out there, I hope you are happy.
Fear not fanbois, we are not trolls, let's take off your tin foil hat and learn what VAPORWARE is:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware
"Vaporware is a term used to describe a software or hardware product that is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge after having well exceeded the period of development time that was initially claimed or would normally be expected for the development cycle of a similar product."
In their defense I think most Vanguard fanbois (and I was one for a few years) were highly paranoid that every game out there was going to become a WOW clone. It makes sense when you see WOW as hugely successful and you see the SWG NGE fiasco and the EQ2 Wowification, that other games we're trying to get those numbers instead of catering to their fans. The hardcore and the old school began to think without raising a bunch of hell that Vanguard would also go that route.
In truth the simplification of the genre by WOW was a big selling point but I think if you released a game a little more hardcore and in depth that it would sell. It just needs to follow WOW's other sellings points: Polished and Playable. A hardcore game with polish would sell but since harcore is a niche then you can't split that group by having some quit because their computers won't play it or because it is buggy or lacking in content.
