Account or IP bannings?

SunriderSunrider Member UncommonPosts: 527

Hey all, quick question for those of you who might know the answer... which i think i do as well but wanted to double check. I'm living in an appartment with a few friends and more then one plays WoW. Well one decided he wants to try one of those hack programs and I was curious that if he gets banned on his pc if that will effect the rest of us on the router. Any ideas?

As is he shouldnt be using it, but if he wants to waste the money on it, its his problem... i just dont want him to be pissing into the wind and the rest of us be standing down-wind.

They don't ban your IP, because they want you to buy a new account.

    Source?

And if by hacking programs you mean programs to hack someone else's account, your friend needs to be hit with a folding chair..hard...repeatedly.  I hope he gets a "breathing" ban.

I guess it matters on what program you're using. They don't sell any programs to hack people's accounts. My friend uses <Mod edit>, and only got a 3day ban for it.

Probably just affect his account.... unless you guys have a permanent IP address and you really piss off Blizzard...

If he's doing anything to make a profit off of Blizzard, then if Blizzard finds out, you can bet his @$$ will be sued.

Probably just his account, but you can never be sure.

Darkspace (pretty sure that was the game) banned an entire country's ip blocks becuase they had sooooo many people from that country that commited fraud with billing and payment.

Ahh...one of those.  I played a game (forget the name) that had rocks you could attack.  Except they auto killed you.  This was done to keep farmers away.  I thought it was pretty nifty.
