Post your in-game name. I'll whisper you in-game and help out for a few minutes.

Sorry im not ingame atm. Working >< .

But my ign: Hot Asian Gal by the way.

    1) When i start the game, i see two section, roleplaying & pvp only character. I did tried to enter the roleplaying, i guess all i can do are quest based, getting my job promotion as per walkthru guides mentioned. So does it mean that i have to pve, do quest/missions till im lvl 20? And which lvl requirement to pvp/join guilds/crafting?

    2) In the pvp only char is another feature, im loaded to the Xunlai Tournament area.. and everyone is wearing capes, and standing there. But im automatically lvl 20, and i cant drag out my skills. Also i seem so lost there. What am i suppose to do there? Is this function different from pve? So does it mean you cant transfer characters from pve to pvp feature?

    3) When/which lvl can i decide my 2nd job promotion?

Actually is there a detailed and step by step guide for me to read up to understand alittle bit about everything? Some drops/items/npc char i meet before got me clueless.

    Thanks a million.

"...does it mean that i have to pve, do quest/missions till im lvl 20? And which lvl requirement to pvp/join guilds/crafting?"

You can participate in PvP as you level to 20 doing quests. Most early PvP is done in what's called "Random Arenas." Can be fun or frustrating depending on the makeup of the teams you get.

Since this is your very fisrt character, I'd definitely make a PvE character and do all the quests and missions. This will not only unlock skills, runes, and weapon mods for you (the latter two via salvage) but will automatically unlock these for any PvP-only characters you create in the future.

If you start as PvP-only character, you're going to be somewhat gimped compared to other players who have unlocked all the other goodies first.

You can also join a guild at any level. A good, friendly guild will reduce your learning curve significantly, and may even help you level up faster.

There is no "crafting" per se in GW, but you can salvage at any level. Make sure you buy Expert Salvage kits when you can afford them, and salvage as much iron, steel, bone, wood, cloth, and tanned hides as you can. Depending on your profession, these are what you use to "craft" your armor.

Buy Identification Kits, too, so you can salvage runes and weapon mods. Apply runes you can use to your armor, to make you better, and weapon mods to your weapons to make them better. Sell the stuff you don't need and save gold for your next, better suit of armor.

"But im automatically lvl 20, and i cant drag out my skills. Also i seem so lost there. What am i suppose to do there? Is this function different from pve? So does it mean you cant transfer characters from pve to pvp feature?"

PvP-only characters can only be played in PvP areas. As for your skills, you have a very basic set of them but because you can't do PvE-based quests, you can't earn them (Prophecies). You can only buy them with faction points that you earn in PvP. Trouble is, with base armor, a base weapon, and basic skills, faction is going to be tough to earn. That's why most players build a PvE character first, as a PvE character can earn or buy skills in PvE and use them anywhere, including PvP.

Plus, you'll learn how your skills actually work against various foes in different situations. PvE in Guild Wars is really a basic to advanced training module for learning and preparing for PvP.

In Prophecies, this can be as early as level 1. In Factions, you have to complete several quests which can get you to level 2 or 3 before you get a secondary. In Nightfall, you must be at least level 5 and have at least attained the rank of First Spear. For this reason alone, Pre-Searing in Ascalon (Prophecies) is the best way to experiment with combinations at an early level. If you don't like the combo you built, you can delete that character and start a new one: you've lost little or nothing doing it this way.

    Good luck. Hope this helps.

PvP in Prophecies can start as soon as you reach Searing Ascalon. Inside the town, you'll see an entrance to the PvP arena. It has a level limit, which is good, so you can try out PvP with more-or-less similar-leveled players. Similar arenas with varying level limits can be found in major towns.

Crafting in Guild Wars is fairly simple, but not too simple to be taken for granted. Armor crafting is done through salvaging of crafting materials out of items that you pick up along the way, and bringing them to the Armor NPC. Weapons are acquired more commonly through drops, and can be upgraded with parts salvaged from other weapons.

If you're looking for more detailed information, there's always the Guild Wars Wiki. (Link provided in my sig.)
