Please help me decide! (pvp or not to pvp)

A quick run down on my EQ2 experience so far. I joined last June on the Venekor server, got a berzerker to lvl 24 and eventually quit out of boredom, but mostly out of frusteration of constantly being OWNED by stealthed scouts everywhere. I quit in Sept., took a break and came back for EoF in January and chose AB for a change. Around March I quit and have been playing Vanguard since.

NOW, my dilemma is this: trying to decide wether or not I wanna go back to EQ2, and if I do..should I try PVP again(this time Nagafen as it seems more populated) or is it really just not worth it and will I get owned daily by twinked scouts?

I like the basic idea of good vs evil being able to fight, but it seemed so unbalanced. I'm kind of losing that will to play Vanguard..you know where a game doesn't really piss you off, but it just kind of isn't sticking? yeah, that's kinda how VG is for me at the moment. And EQ2 just has so much more "life" in it's quests, world, not to mention there is actually a pretty interesting storyline to it all (something VG is devoid of)..

Ok, sorry really long thread but I hope some wise EQ2 players here can lend me some advice as summer just started and I'm ready to kick back in an MMO :)

PVP is not for everyone, and to be honest if you are just starting out on a PVP server with no other characters you have to work very hard to get up to the level of where most of the "locked experience twinkers" are. Many people lock around lvl 15 just so they can PVP noobs without a full skill set, and inaqeduate gear.

Expect to die an awful lot to scouts in the early days of your character, and to be honest the only thing that can give you fair warning of impending doom is your own scouts tracking ability.

Its not easy to survive or level unless you stay in groups in the newbie areas as you have less chance of dying to a single PVPer that way.

Like I said, its not for everyone and first timers will find it very difficult. I tried it and it wasnt for me so I am back on my PvE server with my Necro :)

Thanks--I expected that. It isn't for everyone, you're right.

I ended up re-subbing and back on my pve characters. I enjoy EQ2 for it's pve aspect, so I think I'm gonna like it.

    Thanks

if you like questing and dungeon groups and such more than pvp i would suggest going to a pve server cause there it will be easier to do that kind of gameplay. If the biggest fun for you in a mmo is fighting other players then a pvp server is for you, but that will also mean that it will be harder to do quests and dungeons whenever you want (you could run into a pvp group from other faction that camps the spot...).

Also the pvp servers make it really hard to start for a new player with all those low level twinks, and players selling low level items at extremely high fantasy prices (i have seen adept 1 spells for lvl 10-19 for 50-60g, armor/spell rares for that level range for 80+g). if you want to go pvp server a good tip to start with is to harvest yourself, sell all harvests that you don't need and find crafters to make your armor/spells with you providing the raws (a lot crafters will craft for a reasonable amount of money if you get them all raws).
