quests

Having settled at the bottom of the sea, after a voyage on the USS Vanguard, I'm looking for a new home. Some things, about this game, have peeked my interest but I've yet to hear how the quests pan out. Are they generic kill XX amount of badgers and run from point A to point B or is there more too it?

I think the best comparison would be to CoH. Quests tend to move from region to region as your guided along the storyline.

Long term goals tend to focus on proving your worth in skills such as combat and exploration. You can't compare the game to VG

though. VG is more open ended and your not really forced down any path.

In Lotro on a average day I log on and decide where Im going to explore. I also pick a certain target for the day. Perhaps I want to prove to the locals or my people I am a spider hunter. Perhaps I want to prove my skill with the bow. Over time these long term quests make my day to day life feel purposeful. I never hurry unless my surroundings warrant it. I feel like I have a slower life. I may have moments of intense combat but unlike some games its not all harrowing adventure at all times. Sometimes I just spend the day hunting boar for skings. Heck my friends need it so why not?

All in all its a great game guiding you down a familiar storyline. If you enjoy Lord of the rings you may enjoy Lotro.

The slow life is sometimes the best.
