VG: WE NEED A SEPARATE 'CURRENT PLAYER' FORUM LIKE SWG HAS

I suggest a 'Current' forum and a 'Disgruntled' forum (or what ever) to cut down on the insane flaming.

nah we dont. I think that whole thing is silly. How do we know who is a current player and who isnt. Anyone can say anything. Plus we need to get away from the whole Us and Them mentality if Vanguard is to grow. whatever the reason those that no longer play had valid reason(for them) to quit.

Tell you what...if the sad truth and flaming about what a train wreck Vanguard is bothers you so much.

Stay away from these forums and post on your official Vanguard forums..

I think the problem is that there are SOE haters, Brad haters, player haters (hehe).



It works for SWG. And go look how that game bounced back with quite a few vets returning.



Please understand, I am not promoting an "us and them" environment.



The hate will not stop no matter what. Experience has shown me that via the SWG forums.



I want to be able to talk about the game with people who play it and are having some fun.

Then don't read these forums, read the official SOE forums where any negative comment constructive or otherwise is deleted in 5 seconds and the offending poster is banned. Reason why you don't? Because those forums are dead like the respective MMOs (SWG and VG), with only rabid fans posting the same BS over and over about how wonderfull the game is and agreeing with eachother. That's why you come here, if you want to discuss how wonderfull Vanguard is without somone disagreeing you know where to go and where not to go.

Just take a look at the SWG current forum and see how dead it is compared to the vet forum, reason being that no-one plays the game anymore and if they do and think it's a pile of steaming Vanguard they get warned and have their post deleted. So anyone who wants a forum like that is probably posting on the official SOE site whilst being policed by Smedley's KGB forum mods. People come to independent sites because they don't want to be censored or hidden away because it makes some rabid fanbois eyes bleed when they read crticism (constructive or otherwise) concerning the MMO they play.

Here's an idea why don't they split Vanguard into two forums the "Deluded rabid Vanbois" section and one for everyone else? So all the people that find Vanguard runs fine on their computer with good FPS at high settings can all talk to eachother? They can all chat about how easy it is to get groups and how all the servers are getting full and people are coming back after the changes! If you need any help on how to post go to the SWG current forum and you can get some good tips on denial. The rest of us can have the "Gamers without a vested interest in duping more people into buying Vanguard forum".

Bad idea really.  Believe it or not, the best source of players for VG right now are the former people who have left.  Many of them really wanted the game to succeed, and if SOE gets the game whipped into shape, some of them might just come back (esp if they are offered a fee month trial or something)

I think the problem is that any negativity in posting is instantly being branded as a "hater".   It is possible that negative criticism being leveled might actually be an objective look at what is going on.   Do those types of people exist?  Sure.  But consider that a lot of people legitimately have played this game, and decided to post an opinion unfavorable to the game after taking a realistic unbiased, objective look, and backed it up with real facts.  If you don't like being branded as a vanboi, then do not be so quick to dismiss everyone else as a hater.   It's childish on both sides. 



If you don't like what you see here don't click it or read it.  Sony has recently put up some official boards where you should be able to find the rainbows and lollipops your looking for.  If you can't find what your looking for on the official forums, then you might want to assume that where you see smoke there is fire.

That won't solve your problem.Haver you ever looked at the "current" part on the swg forum?The haters come in anyway no matter what you do.It doesn't matter what you do or how you try ..i just stopped posting there on a certain point.I suggest you do the same and leave the forums here for the game you play at what it is and go to the official forums for that game.Only way to solve it tbh.

The reason for two forums in SWG is because the game was radically changed.  It is merely a way to organize topics.  Doing the same thing with Vanguard is completely pointless since it wouldn't serve that purpose and has no hope of achieving the result you would like.

Not only that, but looking back, it was the people with a more critical eye toward Vanguard that ended up being closer to the truth.

The game really was poorly managed and run. We have solid evidence of that now. There really was some gross mismanagement and crap going on behind the scenes and it showed. And for all the money spent on the game, there was next to no QA, and the game suffered for it.  The folks who constantly downplayed everything, and who pretended that all was right with Vanguard are the ones that ended up doing the most harm, either by marginalizing critcism in beta, or dismissing everyone who played the game after release and had a valid point as a "hater", a "basher" or a "troll". 

MMO's never benefit from only listening to positive posts. Sometimes, it's the harshest critics of a game that end up being the best thing for it. The problem with VG is that the people in charge had their heads buried in the sand, and they'd only listen to the hardest of the hardcore fans while dismissing their critics. We've seen the result of that now. If anything, they need to do the opposite and listen to all sides, good, bad and in between, in order to try and salvage VG.

Uhm..no the reason is that people who actually play it got sick of the vets that kept bashing with the same old same old on every singletopic started even when the forums got seperated.And the reason why the vetposts are even higher is imho simply because it appears they have no life.If you don't play the game and all you can do every time you log in here for the last year and a half or so is complain about the same old same ld then sorry....you really got a screw loose.Don't start about well you don't know what SOE did..i do i am a vet...Anyway i can understand what the OP means.It is not about not wanting bad criticism.IF the same people keep mentioning the same old on every frikking topic you start it's about being a selfish annoying rat and not about giving criticism as you and others state it to be.MMorpgs i didn't like i stated mostly 1 or 2 posts on the respective forumpart here and that was that.No need to keep on coming back with the excuse of "wanting people to know the truth"...go start your own campaign about  moreimportant things then mmorpgs if you are that worried with other human beings.

Thing is, when those SWG forums here got split up?  The moderation went into overdrive and the community fractured.  People left and went to another site. 



I'm sure eventually the Mmorpg.com staff will split these forums simply because of the pure hatred.



For me, I just like watching the train wreck happen and occasionally say "I told you so".  I do dislike Brad quite a bit though.

First, don't call it the "Vet Forum." It should be called the "Refuge Forum." Case in point: I'm a Vet from day 1 and I still play!

Why do the "haters" feel threatened by the idea of a separate forum being opened?  After all, it's supposed to be a  forum where "different opinions" are welcomed.  Yet, it's a big "hell no" to someone else's idea?  Just because they happen to like a game you dislike?  Heh, yup no hypocrisy there... nope none whatsoever.
