Im just curios before I go wast a tone of money on this game. Are there alot of ppl playing this game or is it a scrape off of WoW's shoe when it comes to players? Honust question so I dont want any Tolkien noobs flaming me for a question that sounds "offensive' to them. Any response would be appriecated!

There are plenty of people around.  There are far fewer servers than WoW, but I doubt it would matter which LoTRo server you joined and you would find more than enough people for fellowships/kinships or whatever.   I can safety say you should have no concerns over the server populations.

You haven't even played the game yet and you call those well on there way to LOTRO end-game noobs. You would be the noob if you played.

You already feel that buying the game would be a waste of money, so don't waste it, stick with WoW.

Oh, keep this in mind, expect to be flamed in a thread when you start out a post by insulting large groups of people.

I for one have played WOW since the beta release. If I had to play LOTRO or Wow Id pick LOTRO because I like the setting more.

Not to mention I like the fact when I play through the game world I have overall goals beside hopping from quest to quest or crafting.

Having a deed system similar to CoH it feels as if your long term actions carry weight. Not to mention sometimes I just like to go hunt a certain beast for the heck of it and I know the game will notice my efforts. I like  the fact the game has quests where there are npc's acting out roles like in a movie. Its more socially interactive for sure. Finally I loved the fact Im on Arda instead of Azeroth. Im more in tune with J.R.R's worlds then Blizzards.



This all being said I LOVE WoW and still play it after getting MANY toons to level 60 and above. SO many I lost count.

Theres something about walking through the Barrens which just makes me happy



All and all I wouldn't leave WoW for Lotro. If you have to make one choice and have one game stick with the one your sure about.

Stick with the one you love. You'll just be kicking yourself if you do.



P.S. The LOTRO hunters are AMAZINGLY FUN! I know I know I love the WOW ones too but LOTRO's feel so authentic and real

I been playing the game since pre-order beta.  When the game went retail I rerolled on one of the servers they started for open beta.  To be honest it was far from crowded at that point.  I am amazed at how many people are playing on that server now.  The game has just plain taken off.  All the good reviews and publicity are bringing them in.  I see a need for more servers in the not to distant future.

Get off my internet... not technically a flame and is a response.  As stated before, you have made up your mind and you've not played the game.  Stick to WoW.  You'll feel more comfortable there as there's more of your type of "people" there than in LOTR:O.

I dont play WoW by the way jackasses I just stated from facts and wanted to get an honust answer and from what it seems the LoTRO communtiy is even more immature than the WoW community from these posts alone. So I think ill just go and try out different games instead of playing LoTRO. Probebly wait for WO: Age Of Reckoning.

And once you had done that, you expected to get a nice clean answer, tbh mate, continuing on with the 'immature' approach, just re-read your posts and then the replies, your posts are flame posts, the replies you were given were mainly constructive, and uhm, Immature? If your so mature spend atleast a little time on checking your grammar and spelling please.

If I needed help on my grammer then I would have asked spell check not my elder "mate" and also this forum wasent meant to be a flame forum but an honust question and now it is turned into a flame forum thanks to you "mate".
